This property is located down a private lane in a quiet location on the owner s farm. Two miles north of the property the historic town of Shaftesbury is a lovely place to spend an afternoon wandering the cobbled streets browsing the shops and climbing the famous Gold Hill immortalised in the nostalgic Hovis adverts. For those with an interest in history a visit to Old Wardour Castle is not to be missed. Lying ten miles from the property this fourteenth century castle was damaged during the English Civil War and is now a collection of well-maintained ruins where visitors can explore the grotto climb the tower and walk around the landscaped gardens. On arrival at this single-storey property guests come first to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with its exposed beams and homely feel. The lounge area in the centre of the space has two deep sofas from which guests can enjoy the TV/DVD. The dining table is off to one side whilst the kitchen area runs along one wall and is equipped with oven hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. Beyond the main living space there are two bedrooms the first of which is a pleasant double room while the second bedroom is a spacious twin room with has space for an additional pull-out bed on request. The shower and WC meanwhile can be found in the wet room. Outside the property benefits from a lawn garden which has a seating area wood fired pizza oven children s trampoline a small pond a BBQ and a fire pit which allows guests to continue to enjoy this space as the nights cool. Guests are also able to explore the farm with its vineyard Christmas tree plantation and woodlands. The owner is also able to arrange farm tours children s tractor driving experiences downhill mountain biking and (at an additional cost) archery and paintball. It is also possible to arrange fly fishing at a neighbouring farm at a cost of 10 and there is a games room with snooker darts and a skittle alley available in the nearby village hall on Monday and Thursday evenings. Livery is available for guests who wish to bring their own horses. There is parking for up to three cars.
