About this property

About 2 miles from the little hamlet of Gulworthy, surrounded by woodland is Rock View Cottage. This detached stone-built single-storey cottage, with your own 4-person hot tub, once served nearby Wheal Josiah, the now abandoned, but one time richest copper mine in Europe. The cottage has been thoughtfully restored, lime-rendered walls and oak floors complement the stylish decor, creating a luxurious and rustic feel. Ceiling-high, glazed bi-fold doors flood the sitting room with light. There's a little dining area, a wood burning stove and a smart kitchen. The double bedroom has a huge bed, demanding long lie-ins and easy starts, and the lavish bathroom has a fabulous roll-top bath. Outside is a private woodland garden with a table, chairs and barbecue - an idyllic spot to unwind. Beyond the garden are acres of woodland and the Tamar Trails activity centre for walking/cycling around 20 minutes walk away. Nearby are the historic market town of Tavistock, The Nat. Trust's Cotehele House, Buckland Abbey and Morwellham Quay location of the BBC's 'Edwardian Farm'. Further afield, Plymouth has shops, theatres, the Nat. Marine Aquarium and historic Barbican. Rock View Cottage is a peaceful and picturesque retreat where you can choose to do as little or as much as you wish.

A delightful award-winning market town on the River Tavy, nestling in the south-west slopes of Dartmoor. Tavistock has an indoor pannier market, a diverse range of shops, an excellent choice of pubs, bistros, restaurants, a theatre and a cinema, as well as a leisure pool.

Surroundings were idyllic and very peaceful. Everything was outstanding. Kitchen fully equipped and the extras were very much appreciated. The bed was so comfy and big. Hot tub was used a lot to help releave aching muscles. We were so relaxed and didn't want to leave. Hope to return in the future. Andrew and Tina Simmons

Our holiday was perfect, the cottage was clean and cared for to a very high standard and extremely well equipped. It's in a beautiful location, quiet and very relaxing. The hot tub was a lovely touch, we used it every evening. We were made to feel very welcome, thank you Nick and Karen. The flowers, prosecco, chocolate, milk etc were really nice as little extras. We would highly recommend the cottage and hope to return, definitely 10/10. Thank you Jules and Ash

When it stops raining and you want to sit outside you need to wait for the chairs to dry as they are wood.
