... 2½ miles from Chagford (last ½ mile private farm-lane) and 1½ from Drewsteignton, an idyllically situated, thatched cottage 200 yards from a very beautiful stretch of the river Teign (entrance to Fingle Gorge; Fingle Bridge, 1½ miles by footpath). Good-sized and mostly completely secluded enclosed garden (trees, mown grass, stream and pond with waterfalls). Long views over the valley. Farmland and Nat. Trust woodland and heathland all round, Castle Drogo on the hilltop above.
The cottage is well and prettily furnished, lit and decorated. Granite-pillared porch; cosy living/dining room with open fireplace (logs included), windows on two sides; fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer); downstairs twin bedroom (TV) with en suite fully-tiled shower-room (suite). From the living/dining room, gentle spiral stairs up to a sitting room (TV/Sky/DVD/video). Double bedroom (5’ bed) with picture-window looking down the valley, and big, smart bathroom/dressing room (suite). No children under 9, except in High Season. Spring water. Suitable for wheelchair users. An exceptionally peaceful place with lovely walks from the doorstep.
