Keepers Wood - W43109 is a quiet, secluded cottage with a secure garden, ideal for dogs. The property offers a warm, clean bedding and plenty of hot water. The nearby village, accessible by car, features a welcoming pub with good food. However, some guests have noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.
Guests have reported issues with cleanliness, including dust, cobwebs, and unclean kitchen appliances. Despite clean bedding, the overall cleanliness has been a concern.
The cottage is situated in a quiet, rural area, which is appreciated for its tranquility. However, the lack of pavements and the necessity to drive to the nearby village have been noted.
While the bedding was described as clean and warm, there were complaints about old and worn furniture, and suggestions for improvements in the sleeping arrangements.
The property has functional facilities, but guests have suggested enhancements such as a better washing line, dustpan, brush, and bathroom mats. Maintenance issues with a broken washing line and the need for a new fire blanket were also mentioned.
There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

Filthy. Got there after along journey to be totally disappointed. Unlocked the front door and the smell of damp knocked me back the heating was turned off and the bathroom window opened. Cob webs everywhere the fridge freezer was frozen and disgusting with food stains on all shelves and rusty on the outside. Oven filthy draining board had slime underneath, crumbs in the draws. The furniture in the lounge was old and worn stains on sofas curtains dirty didn’t meet in the middle TV didn’t work when reported she sent a little old guy on his own to move a tv over from another lodge on his own, needless to say we didn’t get it. Damp in bedroom mattress was that old it was like cardboard on the plus side the bedding was clean and warm. The shower cubicle doors where filthy did have lots of hot water though. The village a mile away had to be driven too as the roads had no verges or pavements to walk on. Pub was lovely with nice food a couple of shops no chippy or anywhere close for a take away and no inclination to cook in the horrible kitchen and with the dirty oven. The secure garden has gates that small dogs can easily get through and a boundary that the dogs can easily get over. Wouldn’t recommend, feel very much like I’ve been ripped of as the place wasn’t cheap

Lovely lodge well equipped. However garden was overgrown with a lot of bramblesCleaners failed to remove inches of dust on skirting boards behind beds, found chocolate wrappers under bed.Very dusty in corners of ceilings.Fridge freezer rusty but could use it.Paid for a dog as says pet friendly however info in lodge said not to leave dog in lodge unattended. This not explained at time of booking. How can you do day trips that were not suitable for a dog?Our dog was a 14 year old very quiet spaniel with walking issues so had to leave at lodge on some days.Booked because .it said pet friendly.

Right out in the sticks and very quiet. There are a few things that we feel could improve things. Personally I would have a large washing line maybe a rotator line near the wooden bench as all we had was what looked like a line between 2 trees that a former guest had put up and couldn't dry anything. A dust pan and brush would be good. New bathroom mats also as ones provided looked old and dirty. Bigger clothes horse also to hang washing inside on when it rained. Also remove the slatted single beds and replace with duvan beds and move the little table to between the beds as there is no room for suitcase or anything. Little things and all that !!!
