About this property

Bude 7 miles. Holsworthy 4.1 miles. Hoppers Barn is a fabulous, contemporary dwelling resting on historic Dunsdon Farm which is noted in the Doomsday Book, now managed for the conservation of habitat and wildlife. No longer a working farm, with access to a 4-acre woodland and 16 acres of meadows, and within reach of the North Cornwall coast, this is a fabulous choice for a family or group of friends. An enchanting rural retreat, this former stone barn enjoys an enviable location within easy reach of some of Cornwall's best beaches as well as the vast Devonshire countryside, catering to all activity preferences. Enter through the large heavy door, beneath the unique porch, coming into the first floor of this amazing abode; to your right is the large country kitchen, host to a range of appliances to cook up some fabulous dishes. Taking centre stage under the vast apex and original beams is the dining area, perfect for gathering the group together at mealtimes or for planning your trip. Rest and relax within the sitting area arranged around the warming wood burning stove in the corner and the TV, while the little ones can have their own snug space up on the mezzanine level above this to lounge on comfy bean bags whilst playing a board game. Head down the handsome wooden staircase to three pristine bedrooms on the ground floor. Choose from a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a twin room which can be transformed to a super king if needed thanks to zip/link features, and another twin room, all with great attention to detail with pretty linens, ample storage for your belongings and a TV. Freshen up in the shared bathroom on this floor which has a bath with a shower over, so you can enjoy a long soak when you need a quiet moment. Dine alfresco in the summer months on the front patio while the little ones run around on the lawn or begin your mornings outside for breakfast. On your very doorstop is the Dunsdon National Nature Reserve, where you can enjoy a delightful walk, or head a little further to Tamar Lakes Activity Centre at Upper Tamar Lake 3 miles away, where a host of activities wait for all ages. Travel to Bude on the Cornish coast where you'll find dog friendly beaches, plenty of good eateries or try your hand at surfing with many surf schools happy to help you get on a board for the first time. If you prefer calmer waters then take a dip in the Bude Sea Pool, popular for swimming and paddleboarding. Walkers will enjoy discovering the coastal landscapes from the South West Coast Path, coming across Cornwall's delightful villages and towns along the way like Crackington Haven, Boscastle, and Tintagel. Close to beaches, countryside and lots of family friendly attractions, Hoppers Barn is a fabulous hidden gem.

Tarka Country's undulating green hills are home to the historic market town of Holsworthy. The area contains a variety of sceneries, including rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, rolling farmland, and verdant valleys. The town of Holsworthy has a lot to offer, including a tennis court, swimming pool, and beautiful park with a bowling green. The market square is surrounded by a wide variety of historic stores, bars, and cafés in the town centre. There is an 18-hole golf course nearby, and there are plenty of options for fishing, sailing, cycling, and strolling in the neighbourhood. Bude's sandy beaches are conveniently close by, while farther afield, travellers may discover the South West Coastal Path's shifting landscape, the majestic Exmoor and Dartmoor, the unspoiled Bodmin Moor, or simply unwind in North Devon's serene countryside.

Very comfortable beds and everything you need, home from home. Very swift replies from Adam the owner and I had the pleasure of meeting him while he was collecting the escapee chickens! I couldn’t recommend this property enough and will look at booking again next time we want to visit the area.
