Tidal Reach is a stunning riverside holiday cottage in Bideford. In recent years it has been refurbished to a high standard and is very family-friendly with space for five people to sleep in three bedrooms with a layout configured to suit your needs. It's possible to step outside the door and straight onto the South West Coast Path, and there's nothing between you and beautiful views of the River Torridge. The cottage is on a peaceful residential road with no passing traffic, so it is lovely and quiet whilst still being within walking distance of shops, cafes, pubs, takeaways and other amenities useful for a self-catering holiday in Devon.

Bideford is on the banks of the mighty River Torridge, which runs for 58 miles through a serene rural landscape between Meddon and Appledore. It's a picturesque town with a fascinating history you can learn about as you walk around the self-guided heritage trail. Start at Long Bridge which dates from 1280 and has weirdly uneven arches, before moving around to Old Quay, home of Tarka the Otter, and The Kings Arms pub, where Elizabethan sailors would have stopped for a drink after a busy day. Other places of interest include St Mary's Church with its 200-year-old Yew Trees, Buttgarden Street, dating from 1670 and a favourite with children for the name, and the indoor Pannier Market. Many street names relate to the town's various industries, including Rope Walk and Tome Street.

There is plenty to keep everyone happy during your stay. Local attractions include the Tarka Trail walking and cycling route. Bike hire is available locally if you don't have your own bike. The Milky Way Adventure Park and The Big Sheep are both family favourites, and you can't beat a day on Lundy Island. Westward Ho!, Instow, and Clovelly beaches are all nearby, as are Sandymere and Northam Burrows. You can go sailing, swimming, surfing, kayaking and paddle-boarding, play golf, and walk for miles along the coast. Or if you fancy a change of scenery, Exmoor National Park is also within easy reach.

Tidal Reach is waiting for you. It's available for bookings all year round, which means it's always a great time to plan a holiday.
