The Highlights:Bulworthy Forest Lodges is situated in an idyllic countryside setting that is incredibly peaceful. It truly is the perfect spot for a writer's escape. Our host, Liz, was absolutely amazing—kind, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to her guests. The Lodge:The accommodation itself is charming, though it is a bit dated and would benefit from some modernization. While the atmosphere is lovely, we did encounter some cleanliness issues, specifically finding a rotting oyster left in the dishwasher. This mirrored some previous reviews I’ve seen suggesting that guests bring their own cleaning products. The Hot Tub:We used the hot tub in the evenings, but the experience was "hit and miss." The control panel functions were temperamental, and the water clarity left me unsure about the last time it had been deep-cleaned or serviced. I didn't raise this with Liz at the time as she is so kind and I didn't want to be a bother, though I’m confident she would have handled it immediately if asked.Future Concerns (External Planning):Prospective guests should be aware that there is currently a planning proposal for a large-scale solar farm on a neighboring property (unrelated to the lodges). While I hope this doesn't go through for the sake of Bulworthy Forest, a development of that scale would unfortunately deter me from returning to the area, as it would significantly change the beautiful, untouched landscape that makes this location so special.Summary: A wonderful place if you prioritize peace and hospitality, but it does require a bit more attention to detail regarding maintenance and deep cleaning.
