About this property

This fantastic single storey property has been carefully designed by the owners, who have created a superb light filled space within the ancient fishing village of Appledore. Found in an elevated position off a quiet, narrow lane, this compact home makes for an idyllic stay. It is very private, yet just a short 300 metre stroll to the village centre with its maze of narrow lanes, brightly painted cottages, and quayside. A variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the village offer a wide range of cuisine and local seafood, and there are galleries showcasing local arts and crafts. A seasonal ferry takes passengers across the estuary to the pretty village of Instow with its sandy beach. Or visit the 2 miles of golden sands at Westward Ho! renowned for surfing (2 miles). And the pannier market town of Bideford (3 miles) is home to MS Oldenburg for day trips to Lundy Island. Stepping into the property from the stepped pathway, you are greeted by a welcoming entrance hall before reaching the living space, an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With a Japanese/industrial feel, it features leather sofas and chairs, sliding doors and calming decor. Underfloor heating throughout makes it an ideal choice at any time of year. A Smart TV allows you to keep up with your favourite shows. Sliding patio doors open to the enclosed terrace with river views. The kitchen space has everything you could need to cater for your stay. A utility cupboard in the hallway provides a washing machine and freezer. When night falls there are two bijou bedrooms, one is a double with an en suite shower room, and the other is a twin room (one single and one child s bed). This room has a door leading directly out to the terrace. The family shower room completes the accommodation. Stepping outside, an enclosed rear patio with a rattan sofa, table and chairs, and loungers is a peaceful spot for al fresco dining and being south facing gets the sun all day until late afternoon/evening. The garden wall has a long drop and so care must be taken with children and pets. A side gate allows for the secure storage of bikes and surfboards. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 double and 1 twin (with 1 3ft single and 1 2 6 single). 2 bathrooms 1 en suite shower room with WC, and 1 shower room with WC. Electric oven and 4 ring induction hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher Utility cupboard with washing machine and freezer. Underfloor heating throughout. Smart TV in lounge area. Enclosed rear patio with garden furniture. On street parking nearby (subject to availability) or pay and display car parks. Pubs, shops and restaurants 300 metres, beach 1 mile.
