You can join The Tarka Trail from both ends of the village, which is perfect for walkers and cyclists, and offers some lovely riverside views. Venture across the water on the seasonal passenger ferry to the fishing village of Appledore with its maze of narrow lanes, brightly painted cottages and bustling quayside (5 miles by car). Westward Ho! (5 miles) boasts 2 miles of golden sand and is great for surfing.
Or visit the market town of Bideford with its shops and restaurants, and The Oldenburg for boat trips to Lundy Island (Bideford Quay is 3 miles away). Head up four external steps and enter the property into the hall. The bright and attractive lounge is an ideal space to relax in, with comfortable seating, TV and stunning views. Step outside the front of the property and down four steps to the enclosed, gated patio where you will find there is outside seating, a perfect spot from which to watch the world go by, enjoy a morning coffee or an evening tipple. To the rear of the property is a small, enclosed courtyard that also has rear access, it is perfect for storing bikes or buckets and spades.
