Cobble Cottage is a delightful hidden property peacefully set within the ancient fishing village of Appledore, with its quaint cobbled streets and excellent pubs and galleries. Appledore has a range of shops, eateries and a pretty quay. For those who want a break from the stresses of daily life, it is easy to spend a week here enjoying the relaxed pace of village life. Sample the local pubs and restaurants, or perhaps catch the ferry across the estuary to the neighbouring village of Instow with its beach and yacht club.
For guests who would like to explore more of the area, there is plenty to see and do within just a few miles of the property, including RHS Rosemoor, the heritage village of Clovelly and the 2-mile wide stretch of beach at Westward Ho!
This property offers wonderfully cosy accommodation for two, and as soon as guests enter, they will immediately feel just how homely and welcoming the cottage feels. The open-plan living space occupies the whole ground floor of the property and offers comfortable sofa seating, a warming wood burner and a 32" Smart TV. Steep, wooden kite winder stairs lead to the first floor, where there is a double bedroom with exposed beams, a dressing table, wardrobe and its own TV. The well-appointed bathroom offers a relaxing roll-top bath, as well as a separate shower cubicle. Outside, the property benefits from a small area which provides a perfect place for storing surfboards, bikes etc.

We enjoyed our stay but we were disappointed at the dust grime and hair in the bedroom and drawers and anywhere that wasnt obvious. The kitchen was clean and the cottage had a nice feel but we were put off putting anything away upstairs. We lived out of our suit cases which is not ideal when staying for a week. Ive put off writing this review whilst waiting for cr cottages to respond to my complaint email sent a couple of weeks ago. Ive had no response. Not even an acknowledgment. I also sent them photos. We would not stay there again.

Great little spot, close to quay and shops, cafes and pubs and fab for getting out and about to explore North Devon and North Cornwall 👍 Parking £30 for 7 days at quayside. On street not an option; too busy. Excellent chip shop pub and cafe within 2 minutes.Cleanliness standards in property were poor, in terms of deep clean - cob webs, thick dust and mould in places. The stairs were my greatest grumble; no stair gates to prevent dogs from going up. She fell down them badly first day and then I fell down them carrying her . Too steep and slippery with no runner . Was a constant source of stress and resulted in an ankle injury.Great location, poor interior.

I have stayed in this cottage before and will stay in it again. Lovely cozy warm cottage with furnishings of a high standard. Very clean and in a good location. Parking can be a problem, but I have never encountered this myself personally. Lots of wood for the wood burner and Welcome pack. Only thing to take note of is the steep stairs.
