This property is located in the historic harbour town of Bideford which stands on the Ricer Torridge in North Devon just a short distance downriver from where the estuary opens onto the sea. This position means that there are a number of enjoyable boat trips available from the town s harbour including a fantastic two-hour trip which takes visitors out to the isolated island of Lundy with its resident seal colony and puffins. Three miles north of the town is the pretty fishing village of Appledore where visitors can enjoy a relaxing day trip pottering around the shops strolling along the quay and perhaps catching the ferry across to the neighbouring village of Instow with its yacht club and beach. Guests access this three-storey property via a set of external steps which lead down to the front door which opens directly into the kitchen. The accommodation is split over three floors. Entering into the kitchen guests can immediately make themselves at home with a cup of tea and familiarise themselves with the equipment on offer which includes an oven gas hob microwave fridge and washer/dryer. On this floor you will also find the double bedroom with river views. Heading down the cottage style steps you will find a cosy twin room and the bathroom which offers a shower over bath and WC. Head up the steep stairs lead from the kitchen to the spacious open-plan lounge/diner a welcoming space which offers far-reaching river views from the windows as well as from the patio door which leads out to a decked platform area. As well as a dining table there is also comfortable seating (including one sofa bed for which linen is not provided) from which guests can enjoy the TV DVD iPod dock and DAB radio as well as the wood burner-effect electric fire. Outside there is a small garden to the rear of the property with a seating area. Guests should be aware that the neighbours have access through this space which they sometimes use. There is roadside parking near to the property which is accessed via a set of around thirty stone steps. Alternatively a pay and display car park is just a short walk away.
