About this property

Situated in the quiet hamlet of Quoditch, halfway between Dartmoor and the North Cornish Coast, Nemetona the Mongolian yurt offers a tranquil experience in the unspoiled beauty of Devon’s countryside. Surrounded by grazing livestock and picturesque fields, immerse yourself in nature from the moment you arrive. Nearby, discover scenic walks, local shops, wildlife experiences, and stunning Cornish beaches.

Meaning 'she of sacred grove', Nemetoma was made in Devon by local craftsmen and with locally sourced material that merges beautifully into the landscape. Providing a semi off-grid experience amongst the tranquillity of nature, this magical space is a haven for a couple or solo traveller looking to experience the authentic, circular dwelling space of a Mongolian yurt.

Inside, the yurt has been thoughtfully curated with a comfortable double bed (that can be split into twin beds on request), set beneath a generous skylight that allows for stargazing throughout the twinkling blanket of the expansive dark skies. A big leather sofa welcomes you to snuggle up to play games, and there is a kitchen area with fridge and hob, as well as useful touches such as the wooden clothes rail. Within a short walk of the yurt, the shower block and the peat loo are located on the farmyard. An additional camper single bed is provided suitable for children.

Gather together around the flickering flames of the firepit and revel in the feeling of ultimate relaxation as you take in the breathtaking views of the rolling Devon Hills - you might never want to leave! Explore the expansive private land stretching all the way to the River Carey with scenic walking routes linked to nearby footpaths, and take a moment to wade into the gentle flow of the river.

On-site, there’s a Celtic-style stone medicine wheel, a meditative space where you can unwind and connect with the peaceful surroundings. You can also find the labyrinth carving, a single-path spirals leading inward, often associated with ancient ritual, meditation, or spiritual practices.

Bude’s beautiful beaches, including Summerleaze, Widemouth, and others, are amongst the closest to the hut, offering sandy shores, surf, and dramatic coastal scenery just a short drive away.
