1½ miles from Chudleigh, in the tiny hamlet of Kerswell is The Barn, a smart and spacious cottage. The ‘upside down’ layout here makes the most of superb long views over miles of beautiful rolling countryside. Inside is equally impressive, a stylish contemporary decor with limestone-tiled floors and beams to the apex help to create a very special place to stay. On the first floor, the living area with a wood burning stove is huge, big comfy sofas are positioned to take full advantage of those far-reaching views. A bright kitchen and dining area is the perfect place to sit and plan or recount your days' adventures. On the ground floor are two generous bedrooms, a king-size double with an en suite bathroom, and a family room with a king-size double and twin beds, en suite bathroom and glazed doors to front courtyard. At the front, a big gravelled courtyard has a table and chairs and is occasionally used by the owner to access their adjoining home. You have your own enclosed outdoor space with tables/chairs and barbecue to the rear. The little town of Chudleigh has a friendly atmosphere, and is well placed for exploring moor or sea with good sandy beaches at Dawlish Warren and Teignmouth. The historic, cathedral city of Exeter is an easy drive away, here you'll find plenty of shops, good places to eat and lots to see and do. The Barn is a beautiful home in a peaceful, rural spot, yet with excellent access to city, coast and moors.

The Teign Valley is a dramatically steep wooded valley to the Eastern flank of Dartmoor National Park between the villages of Dunsford in the North and Chudleigh to the South. The villages of Christow, Lower and Higher Ashton, Dunsford and Hennock are peaceful locations for holidays with beautiful scenery all around with hills, fields, rivers and stunning thatched cottages.
