The large sitting room has an open plan design with the dining area and kitchen, and the high vaulted ceiling creates a light-filled and spacious interior. Chilly afternoons can be spent curled up in front of the Morso wood-burning stove which is set on it’s traditional slate hearth, and the floor to ceiling oriel window overlooks the gardens and lake.

Furnished with a pair of large Sofa Workshop sofas as well as a Lloyd Loom chair in bay window, the room is a comfortable sanctuary where a flat screen TV, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker, books & games provide entertainment for guests during their stay. The cottage’s fully equipped bespoke kitchen is completed with thick granite worktops that make the preparing of home cooked meals a breeze, and the large carved pine table and seating within the dining area is the ideal place to spend time together. Situated on the ground floor is the spacious master bedroom with king sized Rest Assured divan bed, and the second bedroom with single bed and full-size wooden cot is with fitted blackout blinds, ensuring those much needed lie-ins can be enjoyed in complete comfort. The third bedroom is furnished with sturdy wooden bunk beds and is designed to provide the younger members of the family with their own space; and the family bathroom with Heritage white classic suite, bath and heavy glass screen has a pressurised drench head shower over as well as a separate cloakroom. Steps from kitchen lead to a private sheltered terrace, and the shared larger main terrace with barbecue and seating to the front of the property is ideal for outdoor entertaining.

Centrally heated throughout and with many thoughtful extras added, including a high-chair, travel cot, built in stair-gate, baby/child crockery & cutlery, miniature chair, two hairdryers, games and books, means guests can expect to completely relax and unwind during their stay.

West Charleton Grange has many amazing on-site facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool (approximately 10 x 5 metres), The Folly private venue, an indoor games room and a fantastic children’s play area including half an acre of grass playing field, a climbing frame, swings, baby swing, slide and trampoline. The 10 acres of landscaped grounds are set in a private valley with dry stone walls and terracing enhanced with extensive planting. Sheltered paved terraces with a large outdoor sofa are fantastic for relaxing, and a gas BBQ on the main terrace is perfect for alfresco dining and suitable to cook for up to 12 people at one time. In summer months there’s a wood fired pizza oven in the Victorian walled garden with a tepee tent close by for a great space to keep the children entertained.
