About this property

Resting in the popular town of Darmouth is this stylish first-floor apartment, Uptop. Sleeping three guests and situated close to all of Dartmouth's amenities, Uptop is a great base for your next family adventure to Devon's magnificent south coast. As you enter the building on the ground floor, climb a set of stairs directly to your apartment, which welcomes you in with a fabulous green furnished living/dining room, where you can take a stool by the large bay window to admire the views, warm your toes by the electric fire as you flick on the television after a long day or gather round the dining table to enjoy an evening meal. Moving through the property there is a well-equipped kitchen which has a handy washing machine and dishwasher, as well as a small table and chairs for you to enjoy a quick breakfast before a long day of exploring. There is also a double bedroom and a single bedroom, which stick with the leafy green theme of the apartment and are both a cheerful place to relax and rejuvenate. To finish the property, there is a contemporary shower room where guests can get ready for the day ahead in style. Outside there if off-road parking for two cars and a private garden to the side of the property with a raised lawn and furniture, so guests can take their morning coffee outside and watch the world go by. Uptop is just a stone’s throw away from the town centre of Dartmouth, where you can take a picnic to the picturesque Royal Avenue Gardens, explore the Dartmouth Museum, discover the 15th century Bayard's Cove Fort, take a boat ride on the River Dart or explore the ample shops, bars and eateries, many of which look out on to the colourful harbour. Slightly further afield, you can marvel at Dartmouth Castle, or enjoy a relaxing day on the shingle beach at Sugary Cove, which also allows dogs all year round. From Dartmouth, you can take a ferry to Kingswear, either with your car or on foot, where you will find a thriving marina, a train station, plenty of shops and eateries, and the 15th century Kingswear Castle with a rooftop platform offering splendid sea views. The market town of Totnes sits a little further along the River Dart and boasts a large castle with outer walls that remain intact and offer great views over the town, which has ample museums and galleries to explore, while nearby is an interesting Rare Breeds Farm. Uptop is a delightful setting for your next trip to Devon.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the River Dart estuary, is close to the coast and is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a harbour, as well as narrow streets with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries. There are links to many cycling and walking routes, including the South West Coast Path and the Dart Valley Trail. Or take a trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway or the boat ride to Brixham.

Apart from that the apartment was clean and well stocked with facilities and kitchen equipment. It is "Uptop" so be prepared for that post dinner walk back. If I was going to Dartmouth again I would look to book this property.
