About this Hotel

Lundy House Hotel enjoys a spectacular position, set directly above the Devon coastline, with views across to Lundy Island.  The hotel is a charming Georgian property and lies midway between the village of Mortehoe and the seaside resort of Woolacombe.  Much of the surrounding area is National Trust land and the terraced garden leads directly onto the South West Coast Path. 

The Coast Path starts in Minehead in Somerset and runs around the coast for 630 miles, ending at Poole Harbour on the Dorset coast.  During the summer months, it is possible to catch the passenger and supply ship, HMS Oldenburg, to Lundy Island where you can indulge in a spot of birdwatching, diving or climbing.

Guest Rooms

Each of our eight bedrooms has en-suite facilities and all are equipped with modern facilities including flatscreen LCD colour TVs with Freeview, hospitality trays with Fairtrade teas, coffees and hot chocolate, fine Egyptian white cotton bed linen and bathrooms stocked with Scottish Fine Soaps Sea Kelp products.  Free wifi is available throughout the hotel and our sea view rooms have spectacular uninterrupted sea views towards Lundy Island.

Tibbets and Marisco - our deluxe rooms are more spacious than our standard sea view rooms with larger bathrooms, a Juliet balcony and stunning views.

Our Punchbowl and Pondsbury rooms both have balconies and sea views.

Breakfast

Our extensive breakfast menu includes a selection of Fair Trade and organic produce.  Start your day with a Full English breakfast (a full vegetarian breakfast is also available.  Alternatives include Eggs Benedict or delicious Belgium waffle served with Greek yoghurt and summer fruit compote. 

A varied menu also includes freshly brewed coffee, English tea, fruit teas, organic muesli, porridge, cereals and freshly baked croissants.

Dogs

Dogs are very welcome at the Lundy House Hotel for a small charge of £7.50 per night. 

We ask that they not be allowed to sleep on the beds.

Car parking is available to the rear of the hotel.

Availability

Sorry no single rooms.  We also have a stylish self-catering apartment available - contact us direct for more information.  Reductions are available for children sharing a room with their parents.  Children under 3 years stay free. 

We occasionally do accept group bookings (sorry no single sex group bookings please).  Call us direct to discuss.

Around and About

There are many beaches lying within easy reach of the hotel including Woolacombe Beach, Barricane Beach, Combesgate Beach and Grunta Cove.  Surfing is very popular in the area and some of the best surf beaches in the country can be found nearby.

There is an abundance of wildlife to be found around the hotel and if you are lucky you may spot kestrels, buzzards, seals, porpoise or dolphins.  Grunta Beach, immediately below the hotel, has no restrictions in terms of dogs.
