… on the edge of East Anstey, a fine, detached house privately enclosed by 2 acres of gardens (unfenced pond, croquet lawn), loved for decades by the family whose home it is. Lots of space for ball games, relaxing, outdoor meals.
Handsome porch. Four steps up to big height-of-house living room on two levels (2 steps) with splendid inglenook fireplace (woodburner), big sofa and chairs, TV/DVD/video and French windows to garden. Farmhouse-style fitted kitchen with Aga plus electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, table/chairs; 2 steps up to larder with fridge-freezer. Step down to two twin bedrooms, one leading into study with double sofa bed and VDU/DVD, leading to conservatory (cane furniture) built round a grapevine and opening to pretty patio/rock garden; bathroom (bath with shower over); loo. Back porch for coats/boots. Stairs up to gallery full of bookshelves, a double bedroom with low ‘A’ beams, a children’s bunk room and bathroom (suite plus hand-shower). Meat and eggs available from farms nearby. Sleeps maximum of 6 adults. Real country living in a lovely old house.
