Honiton is a charming market town in East Devon. It's surrounded by Devon hills, green wooded valleys, and farming villages. Honiton's 2 mile-long High Street has shops, pubs, and restaurants. Honiton has been famous for lacemaking since Elizabeth I's reign, and the town's Allhallows Museum has some fine examples. The Thelma Hulbert Gallery is East Devon's only public art gallery. It's housed in a Grade I Victorian house and has ties to London's Hayward Gallery.
