This shepherd's hut sits in quiet rural Cornwall, part of a holiday park located roughly equidistant between the county's north and south coasts (both about 9.5 miles). With dark night skies overhead and open countryside in every direction, this is the perfect fit for couples looking for a genuinely relaxing break. The Southwest Coast Path promises long cliff-top hikes above rugged coves, while Stithians Lake Activities Centre (2 miles) boasts water sports on inland waters. Falmouth, a working maritime town, is the launch point for sea-safari excursions (9.5 miles). St Ives (17 miles) also makes a great day trip, with not only golden beaches, but also a variety of enticing shops, bars and restaurants. In fact, days at this inviting hut can be spent being as active as you wish or barely moving at all.

With four wooden steps up to its front door, the cute, timber-clad hut is a single open space, cosy and characterful inside, with the living, cooking and sleeping areas all flowing into one another. Double glazing and an electric wall heater ensure comfort even in cooler weather. A kitchenette runs along one side, set up for simple cooking and including a microwave, single induction ring, fridge, kettle and toaster. A breakfast bar and two chairs provide a cosy dining area where meals are eaten, and card games tend to end up. The raised double bed sits within the same space, made up ready for your arrival. The final element is an en-suite shower room that has a hot-and-cold shower and conventional WC. A TV and Starlink Wi-Fi are provided, so you can stay connected or enjoy a quiet evening indoors whenever you choose.

The hut sits in a private courtyard area, with a picnic table and deck chairs for relaxing, with another hut adjacent. In the shared grounds, mown pathways run through wild fields where rabbits are a regular sight. Away from town lighting, the skies here stay genuinely dark at night, which is what makes the stargazing worth staying up for. Parking is available on site.
