About this property

Situated in the small hamlet of Tredinnick, looking over the rolling countryside of Cornwall, is this superb detached cottage. Well suited to groups of friends or family, West View Cottage has been tastefully renovated to an excellent standard, mixing contemporary touches with the classic country features such as the inglenook fireplace, slate floors, traditional low beams and large grandfather clock. Look forward to relaxing and unwinding in the sitting room, curled up on the sofas and catching up with your favourite shows, whilst the warming woodburner keeps you nice and toasty. The open-plan kitchen/diner is the real heart of the home, well stocked and with a variety of smart appliances so you can rustle up some delicious meals, to be enjoyed at the dining table over a well-deserved glass of wine. Retire to one of the two double bedrooms, both of which have lovely long views over the fields beyond and one which boasts an en-suite shower room. There is also a ground-floor family bathroom. The immaculate gardens are the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink, dine alfresco, or begin the day with the first cup of tea. Once you are ready to explore, hike the coast path, cycle the camel trail or don walking boots and visit the fabulous rolling countryside right on the doorstep. Nearby St Issey has a pub and there are beaches aplenty at Constantine, Harlyn, Treyarnon and Porthcothan Bay. Padstow is a must and has great shops, cafes and restaurants all around the picturesque harbour, approximately 5 miles from the property. Grab a pasty and watch the fishing boats come in.West View Cottage is well located for exploring this part of North Cornwall at any time of year.

Padstow is situated at the head of the Camel Cycle Trail and is a fantastic base for exploring the South West Coastal Path which opens up routes to beautiful Cornish countryside. This delightful fishing port is surrounded by sandy beaches and offers many opportunities to taste the locally sourced produce in celebrity owned establishments. Padstow has something for everyone with watersports, walking, cycling and fishing, you can even take a trip on a local fisherman’s boat! The excellent surfing beaches of Harlyn and Constantine are ideal for safe family fun, and Constantine Bay is also home to a golf course, just a few miles away, while a passenger ferry across the river from Padstow to Rock takes you to the beach at Daymer Bay. Just around the corner toward Pentire Head is the surfing paradise at Polzeath, and when the beach no longer calls, there’s a golf course nearby, several stately homes and gardens to visit. The fabulous Eden Project is just over twenty miles away.

The neighbours were very friendly and it had a wonderful homely feel to it. I would have no hesitation recommending this to anyone.

Bathtub looked old, past its sell-by date. Ensuite shower needs a deep clean. Plenty of fluffy towels, crockery, etc. Kitchen layout means lots of walking. Never used the sitting room for sitting or watching television - did that in the kitchen. One bed (non-ensuite bedroom) uncomfortable, Too many locked cupboards that we couldn't use for clothes - just a branch in one room! Garden nice.

It's a lovely quiet location and only a couple of miles from the A30 so it's easy to get anywhere in Cornwall from there. The house is idyllic and homely with lovely gardens to the front and rear. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and the large kitchen has everything you'd find at home with a modern cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, slow cooker, Cornishware crockery etc. There's a patio to the rear with a table and chairs for dining. It was spotlessly clean and the booking and access arrangements are easy. If you're looking for a rental and you're lucky enough to have found West View, book it!
