About this property

Situated in an elevated position in North Cornwall’s seaside resort village of Polzeath, Hillview lives up to its name, located at the top of Higher Tristram road. Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, this coastal cladded bungalow with private parking is an ideal base for a family holiday near the beach.

Be wowed by the stunning sea view from the open-plan sitting and dining area with ample seating and a TV. Enjoy cosying up on the sofas together to watch a family film or to play a holiday game, or alternatively simply enjoy looking out over the garden towards the beach below, watching the local surfing scene or taking in the beautiful seaside sunsets.

A spacious kitchen with breakfast bar seating for two guests provides a relaxed space for families to enjoy some holiday cooking, or simply plate up freshly baked pasties from the local bakery in the village, followed by a delectable Cornish cream tea.

Making the most of the beautiful sea view, the master double bedroom boasts a large window to perfectly frame the local coastline, as well as nautical décor, whilst a further bunk room and twin bedroom provide a peaceful oasis where guests can relax and unwind, following a day exploring Polzeath. The contemporary family bathroom features both a bath and shower, so you can rinse off sand and salt before soaking tired limbs - bubbles at the ready.

Head outside and enjoy the use of the terrace and sloping garden, where you can revel in the fresh sea breeze and play fun-filled garden games.

If you’re a keen cyclist or you’re hoping to catch a wave whilst on holiday, the garage can be used to store away your beach supplies and more, and it also boasts a washing machine.

Cycle or enjoy a five-minute downhill stroll to Polzeath beach, a popular surfing spot where you can also find cafés, restaurants, a beach shop, bakery and more.

To discover the nearby North Cornwall coastline, travel slightly further afield to Rock, either by car or via a 3.5 mile hike along the South West Coast Path which boasts beautiful views over the Camel Estuary. To extend your day out even further, travel across the water on the ferry to popular Padstow, for celebrity chef restaurants, boutique shops, the famous Camel Trail and crabbing on the harbour.

Ideally positioned and offering adequate room for beach supplies, Hillview is an ideal coastal cottage for a family holiday in Polzeath.

The bustling market town of Wadebridge is perfectly placed alongside the ebb and flow of the River Camel, an ideal location for exploring the natural beauty of North Cornwall. The town hosts an array of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, all offering a personal and friendly service and is home to North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. The beautiful countryside surrounding the town is criss-crossed with a network of local footpaths, amazing gardens and stately homes to explore, whilst the renowned Camel Trail passes through the town, providing 17 miles of fabulous, traffic free walking, horse riding and cycling opportunities. The stunning North Cornwall coast is within 5 miles, boasting a huge selection of beaches, rocky coves and towering cliffs to explore and the nearby town of Padstow, with its colourful harbour, pastel-washed, medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is a must. The location is great: just uphill from the beach, with the ability to check the surf from the main bedroom and living room. Sofas were comfy and the shower was good. The outside tap and garage were useful for beach gear and we loved the bunnies on the lawn each day. There was no washing up liquid. Not a problem for us as we brought our own, but it seemed like the previous visitors had not left some kitchen items that clean as a result. A few things would benefit from some updating but for the price we paid we didn't mind.

Gorgeous views. Comfortable. A little tricky to find as we hadn’t realised it was tucked back down its own drive (and didn’t look as blue as in the photos). Like many holiday cottages, no curtains and the blinds barely block out any light so it’s lucky we always take extra blackouts with us. We loved the rabbits on the front lawn!

The back Bedroom Wardrobe RH Hinge was broken upon arrival, so didn't use that door during our stay. Having an additional fridge / Freezer in the garage was super useful, as was the exercise bike. Ran out out Black Bin Bags it appeared, so had to buy some. Beds were soft and no complaints. Front Windows were grubby which spoiled the nice view, but the wife give them a once over. One lounger chair has a Nut missing on the Bolt, just needed to make sure the bolt was in the hole as we used these most evenings. Everything else was found to be above standards and we enjoyed our stay. The games in the footstools were a surprise to find and the grandkids used them a few times.
