About this property

Rock 1.6 miles. Perched in St Minver near the lovely coastal village of Rock in Cornwall, discover this traditional, three-bedroom cottage, Boskewys. Benefitting from an enclosed garden with a summer house housing useful utilities (including a handy shower for when coming back from the beach), a garage parking space and a well-equipped kitchen, in addition to close proximity to the coast and local amenities, Boskewys is great as a base for a family or group of friends looking to explore this splendid area in Cornwall. After unloading your belongings, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home, kicking back and unwinding in the pleasant sitting room, complete with Smart TV so you can catch up on all your favourite shows after a long day. Allow your other half to rustle up a tasty dish in the kitchen, before settling down in the conservatory to tuck in over a bottle of wine, admiring the pretty views out towards the raised, lawned garden. If you like to sit outside listening to the birdsong, step outside and make use of the outdoor furniture; alternatively, take advantage of the summer house where children have extra floor space to play or watch a DVD in a change of scenery. Here, you’ll also find a handy shower room, washing machine and small capacity tumble dryer. Back in the property, escape to the first floor to wash away the day and complete your evening routine before opting for either a super-king-size, twin or bunk bedroom to catch your rest in. In the morning, kickstart your itinerary at Rock Beach, perfect for a day building sandcastles, paddling the shores or trying your hand at a range of watersports including paddleboarding or head to Daymer on a breezy day if you are more inclined towards wind-surfing. Hike to Pentire Point from Polzeath beach, ideal for the wildlife enthusiasts amongst you and boasting far-reaching views of the stunning coastline, before heading back towards the beach or refuelling with some tasty fare nearby at the Cracking Crab or Oystercatcher, Polzeath. Further afield, in Padstow discover Padstow Museum, Padstow Sealife Safaris- Wildlife Watching Boat Trips and the National Lobster Hatchery or visit Tintagel, home to Tintagel Castle, St Nectan’s Waterfall and the National Trust site of Glebe Cliff, in addition to a great selection of pubs, shops and restaurants. Whisk your loved ones away on a memorable retreat to Cornwall.

On the north eastern bank of the River Camel, opposite the well-known harbour town of Padstow, which is conveniently accessible by a regular ferry service, is Rock, an attractive and highly sought-after beach community. The true lure is the variety of watersports available, including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, and angling. The summer residence of royalty and celebrities offers top-notch restaurants and high-end stores. In keeping with the theme of sports, the neighbouring St Enodoc golf course is regarded as one of the greatest in the nation. With so many top-notch beaches nearby, it is simple to understand why Rock continues to be popular.

Personally I found the extremely comfortable large sofa very difficult to get up from, having said that, that was my problem having had a hip replacement in May!! The garden and summerhouse was a great bonus, although access wasn't great as whichever set of steps you accessed by was hindered by brambly thorny rogue overhangs. I'll bring my secateurs next time

Good Wi-Fi but no tv signal. It’s a bit worn and not very modern but perfectly adequate.
