The ancient village of Tywardreath is just 3 miles from Fowey, a sailing town on the stunning south coast, the perfect base for seeing this stunning county and its dramatic coastline that includes golden beaches, quiet harbour villages and breathtaking cliff-top walks. We were very pleased with our stay at Tegen. The accommodation was very clean & comfortably furnished. Despite being dog friendly there was no doggy odour which was great. The sofas and beds are good quality and comfortable. There is also an additional loo. The kitchen is well equipped and the owners have thoughtfully provided everything we could need. Outside there is a terrace which is blessed with a sunny aspect if you are lucky with the weather. Leading down to a small enclosed garden is ideal for a dog. The village is quiet & peaceful with not much there other than a small shop, butcher and pub within a short stroll but is well placed for exploring this part of Cornwall. Would recommend the village butcher and a decent sized co-op is a short drive away so no need to bring the week’s shopping with you.Although some reviews have said the beach is a short walk away I would say that is an optimistic assessment depending on your fitness. It is a narrow lane down and therefore quite a steep walk back. We opted to drive to Par beach, a few minutes in the car, where there is ample parking for about £1.10 per hour. The fact it is a year round beach for dogs is a big bonus here. Fowey is well worth a visit but these pretty harbour towns and car parks get very busy. A river trip at Fowey was fun & informative & took the dog too. Mevagissy and Charlestown also worth a visit. We enjoyed a meal at the restaurant, Springtide, at Charlestown which served us delicious oysters and a seafood chowder. In summary we would recommend Tegan as an excellent base for a holiday in this part of Cornwall.

Tegan is a very comfortable, well equipped and very tastefully furnished cottage in a lovely quiet location in the village. It is a very spacious property containing every facility anybody would need on holiday. The decking area is a very pleasant place to relax and enjoy the view along with the peace and quiet. The garden is lovely and if you have a dog, it is 100% secure. We have just returned home after a very enjoyable week in Tegan and would certainly stay there again.

A very nice holiday home, spacious, very clean and the added bonus of a 2nd loo. It's actually 4 miles from Fowey, so a bit further away than we were expecting.Where it is located has local shops and pub and the beach with cafe is a 30 minute walk away, and was a bit too steep for my wife when walking back, but plenty of parking nr the beach if needed. The sun deck is great for enjoying the afternoon sun and it has a small but enclosed garden.
