Guests say

Guests have consistently praised 'Spires' for its stunning views, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly owners. The property's location is ideal for exploring Cornwall, and the accommodation is well-equipped and comfortable, with a homely feel. Guests have enjoyed the thoughtful touches, such as homemade scones, and the property's pet-friendly policy adds to its charm.

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests noting its good condition. There was a minor comment about some cutlery and cooking utensils not being up to standard, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is highly praised for its exceptional views and convenience for exploring West Cornwall. Its proximity to Truro and coastal paths, as well as direct access to a bridle path and woodland, is appreciated by guests.

Guests find the apartment very comfortable, mentioning the 'fluffy cloud' bed and the modern interior. There is a suggestion for a sofa with a taller back, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

The facilities are generally well-regarded, with the apartment being well-equipped and modern. However, there are comments about the shower pressure not being powerful and a lack of wardrobe space, which slightly affects the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of homemade scones and other extras. While these gifts are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed.

Carnon Downs, a charming Cornish settlement, has a store, a post office, and a pub. The attractive town of Falmouth and the nearby village of Portreath are also easily accessible by vehicle, as are the north and south coasts with their sandy beaches, perfect for those who want to surf or hike the coastpath. Classic automobile enthusiasts will love a trip to Perranwell Station where they may rent a Morgan car for the day. In the Bissoe Valley, which is also close by, is Bissoe Bike Hire, where you can rent a bike and take in the views of the abandoned mines and lovely forested valleys as you pedal from Portreath to Devoran or simply relax with a snack in the café. Truro, the sole city in Cornwall, is home to a spectacular cathedral, the Royal Cornwall Museum, the Hall for Cornwall, a theatre and performance venue, and a variety of stores, bars, and eateries. The third-largest natural harbour in the world is located at Falmouth. The National Maritime Museum, secure beaches, boat rides up the Carrick Roads, and Pendennis Castle, which was built by Henry viii and is the town's most well-liked attraction, may all be found here. There are several nearby gardens to visit besides The Lost Gardens of Heligan, including Trelissick, Trebah, and Glendurgan. You can reach the stunning Roseland Peninsular, which is well worth a visit, by taking a quick trip across the King Harry Ferry. It is such a beautiful property and we enjoyed every moment. We particularly enjoyed each evening looking at the view and watching the sky darken and the stars appear. It's the most relaxed we've been in months. The sparkly shower room is a delight and the kitchen facilities are great. The bed is so comfortable. Luckily I had taken clothes hangers with us as there is no wardrobe. The chest of drawers were fine and there were hooks to hang clothes on. The location is great with vistas overlooking fabulous Cornish countryside. With Truro just up the road and the north and south coats just a short drive away. Amanda made us feel very welcome and we feel sure to return again sometime.
