About this Holiday Cottage

For those of you old enough to remember, St Anthony's Lighthouse was the location for the children's puppet television series 'Fraggle Rock' in the 1980's. Now, you can holiday there at Sally Port Cottage, located at the furthest point of the stunning Roseland Peninsula.

Inside

The cottage consists of all ground floor accommodation- a sitting room, and kitchen/diner. The kitchen is furnished with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer. The sitting room has an electric wood- burning stove, TV and DVD player.

A highlight of the cottage is the separate observation (detached from the property) room with large windows, providing truly unrivalled views of the coastline and sea below.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Sally Port Cottage has 2 bedrooms, and can sleep up to 4 guests. There is a master bedroom with 6' zip and link bed, and this can convert to two 3' beds upon request. This bedroom has an en- suite shower room (no bath). There is also twin bedroom with 3' beds and a bathroom with separate shower and toilet.

Outside

The cottage is located at the top of a 300-metre steep tarmac path, leading from the rocks and car park below.  There is a great sun- trap patio area with garden furniture for guests to relax in summer evenings.

Other Things to Note

Please note that the lighthouse and it's equipment occasionally need repair, and so maintenance staff may need to visit the cottage. However, staff will do their utmost to ensure guest privacy.

No babies or children under 14. No pets. Strictly non- smoking. When accessing the lighthouse, roads may be narrow due to overhanging vegetation (during bird breeding season we are subject to cutting regulations.)

We recommend that this cottage is not suitable for guests with limited mobility, due to the extremely steep gradient of the 300m path leading up to the cottage. We suggest you bring 'wheelie' luggage and wear sensible shoes.

For parking, use the National Trust car park- the access path to the cottage is behind the bird and wildlife information board at the bottom of the car park, opposite the property on the left.

Ear plugs are provided for guests, in case of conditions being misty and the electronic fog signal operating automatically (St Anthony's lighthouse is operational.)

Availability

Available for short breaks (minimum 2 nights.)

Around and About

The cottage is in a great location for holidaymakers, with many attractions sure to make your retreat memorable. The village of Portscatho is just three miles away, and has several pubs, restaurants and shops. In season, there is a ferry between St Mawes and Falmouth, where you can visit the National Maritime Museum. The Land surrounding the cottage is protected by the National Trust, and provides popular walking routes and a bird hide, where peregrine falcons and other heathland and coastal birds nest.
