Guests say

Trelydarth is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and suitability for large groups. The property's location is appreciated for its proximity to beaches and attractions, and the hosts are noted for their helpfulness. While some reviews mention areas for improvement, the overall sentiment is positive, with guests enjoying their stays and many expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests found Trelydarth to be spotlessly clean, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming stay. A few isolated comments suggest room for improvement, but these do not detract significantly from the overall high standards of cleanliness experienced by most visitors.

Trelydarth is commended for its quiet location, which is still convenient for exploring Cornwall and visiting nearby beaches. Some guests found it slightly off the beaten track, but this did not hinder their enjoyment and appreciation of the property's setting.

Guests generally found the property comfortable, with ample space and cosy living areas. However, some reviews suggest that the quality of furniture and beds could be improved to enhance comfort further.

The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and offers good facilities for large groups. There are mentions of maintenance issues, such as the need for better extraction in bathrooms and updates to some rooms, which suggests room for improvement in this category.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident, with mentions of a welcome pack and well-considered amenities for children. While such gestures are warmly received, it is important to note that specific gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

About this property

This detached property has been converted to a comfy holiday cottage on a non-working farm, on the edge of the Cornish village of Penhallow, just three miles from the popular beach resort of Perranporth. Originally a working Cornish farmhouse and located on a quiet road surrounded by picturesque countryside, this Penhallow cottage is ideal for a large family looking for a peaceful cottage in the countryside, but with access to wonderful sandy beaches. This cottage near Perranporth provides traditional accommodation and has a mixture of double and twin bedrooms plus an additional cot room. The living accommodation is comprised of a large kitchen/diner and two sitting rooms, so that the children can be playing in one whilst the adults relax in the other.

The rear garden has a large decked patio with barbecue area, ideal for relaxing in complete privacy after a day on the beach. Spend some time at Perranporth, a popular resort with families due to the quality of sand and surf, plus it has an array of shops, pubs and restaurants. This Penhallow cottage is the ideal location to tour western Cornwall, visiting the many coves along the South West Coastal Path, exploring Land's End with its dramatic coastline, or checking out the quaint fishing villages of St Ives and Mevagissey which are packed with character. A convenient Cornish cottage in the countryside but close to sandy beaches.

With sandy beaches and fantastic rolling surf, it isn't difficult to see why the little town of Perranporth is so popular amongst watersports enthusiasts. Whether the tide is in or out, visitors can find something to enjoy on the beach - be it walks along the miles of sand or surfing in the impressive waves.

The location was perfect for lots of different trips. Our favourites were the Eden Project, Chapel Porth beach and shopping in Truro. The house was well equipped with everything needed in the kitchen and the large table was great for large group meals. The 2 sitting rooms were a bonus too. We had a brilliant week, Thank You

It is situated just off the A30 with a pasty shop and a Starbucks just down the road. Perranporth is a short drive away, if you are looking to spend a day on the beach you can't go far wrong with Perranporth sands, 3 miles of cornish sand with sand-dunes for the kids to play hide and seek in and an on the beach bar for the big kids. If you are a thrill seaker Reen Manor riding school provide Beach rides across the sands most days, suitable for all levels of rider. Turo is a short drive inland if you fancy a day shopping. Turo Cathedral is well worth a visit with its twisted Nave. The property itself is well equipped, could do with some more mugs and t-spoons, the massive pots in the kitchen were really useful when cooking for 12. The controls on the hob are a little tricky to use as they don't respond to touch all the time but we got the hang of it. The two sitting rooms are a bonus as we were able to have a Kids room for their games consoles and a quieter adult one. The mattresses on the double beds were very soft and we did not find these the most comfortable. We did struggle with the heating, on talking to the owner we managed to get the hosue cooler apart from the main front room. We did find that their were a lot of little flies, the owner is doing her best to control these, as the cottage is on farmland this is a battle. We did spray the front room with Raid and this did help. The owner is lovely and will help out with any queries or issues you have in a very timely manner. I would definately look to book Trelydarth again for future family holidays.
