Situated in the village of Shortlanesend, Cornwall, lies this delightful holiday bungalow, Gweal. Located between the stunning nature reserves of the St. Agnes Heritage Coast and The Roseland Heritage Coast, this charming property boasts on-site amenities, great positioning to nearby attractions, and offers everything you need for a wonderful Cornish getaway. Inside, you will find a well-presented open-plan living space, complete with an amply-equipped kitchen, a dining room with a table for four, and a sitting room complete with Smart TV, the social hub of the house where the whole family can gather and unwind after a long, fun-filled day. As the evening draws to a close, retire to one of two tastefully-decorated bedrooms, one of which has patio-door access to the rear garden, where you and your loved ones can relax with a drink in the warmer months, and in the mornings, be sure to take a seat on the bench out front with coffee in hand, as you soak in views of the distant countryside. If you fancy acquainting yourself with your local area, take a brief walk into the village, where you can grab a pint at The Old Plough before taking a seat for dinner at the Penrose Kitchen. Truro is a short car journey away, offering attractions such as Truro Cathedral and the vibrant grounds of Boscawen Park. Further afield you can find Perranporth, home to the lush sands of Perranporth Beach, as well as the hiking area of Shag Rock Steps, for those feeling more energetic. Falmouth is also accessible by car, where the locations of Pendennis Castle and the Marlborough House can be found, along with the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, all worth visiting whilst you brush up on your local history. You'll enjoy a memorable stay at Gweal.
A charming village called Shortlanesend is located halfway between Truro and Perranporth. The Idless Woods and The Watts Nature Reserve are only a couple of the neighbouring attractions offered by the village, which is located in the former Carrick District. The Old Plough and Penrose Kitchen are two places to eat, while the Shortlanesend Store is where you can fill up on necessities. The bustling cathedral city of Truro, which houses the Royal Cornwall Museum and the self-titled Truro Cathedral, is only a short distance from the settlement.

The location was ideal for the places we wanted to visit, east and west of the location, The neighbours were welcoming and friendly. We could have done with a measuring jug, and a pair of oven gloves to get the enormous casserole dish out of the oven ! Also there were no cleaning materials at all, so we bought some toilet cleaner. Extra black rubbish bags would also have been good. Thank you for a lovely place to stay.

The bungalow itself was clean and set out well⦠nice space for parking thank you. Storage was ok for clothes but itâs not ample but we made do with what was there. Thereâs two points that made it not so wonderful 1. Heatingâ¦all hot air radiators are locked out so you canât add heat into the place⦠there is a boost setting you can use but that is for an hour and it does very little to the rooms and you canât dry anything apart from the heated radiator in the bathroom. 2. Grass on the front..although it makes it look nice itâs not very nice when at the start of holiday there was 4 lumps of animal poo and by the end of the holiday we had 8 lumpsâ¦not a great visual when you are in and out every day.

Well organised key collection and all in all it was an easy and lovely place to stay. In the middle of all the attractions, however, far enough away for it to not feel touristy. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need and more. It was an outstanding property. We even had a text from the owners checking in which was a lovely touch, thank you! The only tips I would give would be; to make the garden area nicer for guests to spent time in, a washing line to hang towels and swim wear, Option for bed guards for the single beds as they were exceptionally high for our two children. And the mattress on the king size bed could really do with being replaced for a firmer mattress. Thank you for a great holiday to Cornwall and the added welcome hamper
