About this property

Tintagel 0.9 miles. Set in the quaint hamlet of Trenale, on the outskirts of the village of Tintagel, Cornwall, rests this delightful, two-bedroom holiday home, Ivy Cottage. With a gorgeous, stone-clad exterior, and boasting close proximity to nearby amenities and attractions, this charming property offers everything you and your loved ones will need for a relaxing, self-catered escape near the Cornish coast. Inside, make yourself at home in the cottage's well-presented living spaces, where the designated chef can cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen; settle down for meals at the dining table before sitting back in the well-appointed sitting room, which comes complete with a wall-mounted TV and a crackling, multi-fuel stove. As the evenings grow darker, treat yourself to a long, indulgent bath before retiring to one of two double bedrooms, both complete with plush bedding that await to transport you to a night of tranquil slumber. After you've enjoyed your morning coffee whilst soaking in views of the horizon in the garden, take time to explore your local area by making the short trip into Tintagel, where you can roam the historic spots of the Tintagel Castle and Barras Nose, or even the fabled beach cove of Merlin's Cave. The North Tintagel Boulders and the lush sands of Bossiney Cove are also worth a stop at, as well as the National Trust landmarks of the Tintagel Old Post Office and Glebe Cliff. A brief drive South West will bring you to the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac; since 2004, the village has served as the backdrop to the ITV television series Doc Martin. It also is home to the sea shanty singing group Fisherman's Friends. Drive a little further down along the coast and you come to Polzeath, a seaside resort village home to the Pentire Point nature reserve, Polzeath Beach and the Pentireglaze hiking area. Camelford and Wadebridge are also worthwhile stops to visit during your time in the region, or why not board the ferry from Rock to Padstow, to tour the bustling fishing town? All of this and more await during a stay at Ivy Cottage.

Tintagel is a well-liked but not overrun tourist site and the location of the fabled King Arthur's Castle, whose ruins dominate the cliffside just beyond the settlement. The water, rocky coves, and breathtaking views dominate the area around. Surfing is the main draw for people who enjoy the water, and there are several beaches nearby, including Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove. The Old Post Office (National Trust) and other establishments like taverns and restaurants can be found in Tintagel. The SW Coast Path runs through the village and, for the fit, weaves its way through dramatic terrain in both directions along the cliffs and down to the water's edge. The picturesque village of Boscastle, with its charming quay and local bars for refreshment, lies 2.5 miles north along the walk. The surfing hotspots of Newquay and Bude are further away, along with associated resort attractions, but Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, Camel Estuary, and Port Isaac are all accessible within a 40-minute drive.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely area but did need a dusting cobwebs with spiders in were in every room, the bathroom needed a clean dirt and hairs found and when striping beds (which I’ve never be asked to do before) duvets had stains on

The zip and link bed was uncomfortable, needs a good quality mattress topper for better comfort. The whole place was full of cobwebs, the room where the freezer was kept was smelly, needs a more thorough clean through out, could not sit and enjoy the sea view because there was no decent garden furniture, the 2 folding chairs where dirty, had to use the metal ones which are no good for relaxing on.Had to keep dog on lead due to hedge being cut low in parts as he could run and drop into neighbours garden.Been to far better cottages over the years. Not worth the money and wont be returning.
