About this property

Mill Pond, a delightful, stone-fronted bungalow is situated in a sheltered, rural spot just outside St Minver, only a short journey to the local, Cornish beaches. Homely and welcoming with original features throughout, this self-catering holiday home has been sympathetically renovated, yet still retains plenty of charm. With an enclosed patio and garden, and private parking, four guests are welcomed, along with pets on prior arrangement. With a barbecue provided, make the most of the warmer evenings and sit out on the patio, ready for an alfresco affair, whilst the living area is open plan, where a partially vaulted ceiling provides a great feeling of space. The beams and stone fireplace with granite sill add to the character of this room; relax here after a busy day of adventures. Two bedrooms are on offer, one with a double bed, and the other with twin beds, both serviced by a bathroom. Perfectly situated to discover the best of North Cornwall, choose from the nearby beautiful beaches of Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath, whether you want sail, swim, or surf. The market town of Wadebridge is a car journey away, with its interesting independent shops, cinema, and restaurants, along with being the midpoint of the Camel Trail, a level cycle track built on a former railway line. Pay Port Isaac a visit; this historic and picturesque fishing village is a pleasure to spend a few hours, watching fishing boats unload lobster pots, and wander around narrow lanes in between tiny, whitewashed, former fishermen's cottages. All of this awaits at Mill Pond.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village.

So clean and comfortable. Very well appointed and warm. Lovely log fire was a real plus for that hygge vibe. Would definitely go again. Only comment that may help those with mobility issues is that ‘technically’ you can’t park right next to property although we did and it wasn’t a problem. Also it is at the bottom of the hill so garden was too waterlogged to let dog out due to muddy paws although front area could be used for the doggy calls of nature. Overall though - just wonderful.

It was clean, comfortable and spacious. We were impressed by the quality appliances, all of which were Miele. However, we were bemused that there were no spare toilet rolls and only one bin liner was provided for a two week stay Also, we had driven a long way and we were disappointed not to find a Welcome pack on arrival. The weather was good so we were out and about. The cottage and surroundings were beautifully peaceful and for anyone wanting to get away from noise and people it is the ideal place

The cottage is spacious and well equipped. We particularly liked having both a washing machine and dryer as this was the second cottage in our two week stay so needed to easily refresh clothes. We marked cleanliness at the lowest rating as there were significant dog hairs from a previous visitor and the property hadn't been cleaned to remove these. Our children are allergic to dogs; as a consequence it required us to both leave windows open at night and apply allergy medicine sprays to our youngest on several nights. If this had been marginally worse we would have had to vacate and finish our holiday early. Other comments: no outside hose for wetsuits, no clothes line we could see, no decent wine glasses, toaster broken as need to hold down to operate.
