Two miles from Mawgan, and two from Manaccan, above the Helford River, is Badger Cottage. Grade II listed Badger Cottage, is attached to the farmhouse and dates back to the 18th century. Inside is comfortable and welcoming, with beamed ceilings, squishy sofas and wood burner in the sitting room. The kitchen is a good size and incorporates a farmhouse style table and chairs for everyone to gather around. Stairs lead to two bedrooms: a pretty double and a room with adult sized bunks. They share a shower room. As well as its own enclosed garden, guests can enjoy the owners fifty-five acres of fields and woodland with panoramic countryside views and woodland trails.
Children will love the outdoor play space, swings, football goals, climbing frames and sandpit, and the friendly owners will be happy to introduce you to their ducks and hens. For those not so sunny days, there is table tennis, a pool table, and games/toys, inside a large games cabin to keep everyone entertained. If you can bear to tear yourself away from the onsite entertainments, the village of Mawgan-in-Meneage is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on Mawgan Creek, which leads to the Helford River. From here it is a tranquil walk to National Trust Tremayne Quay, whilst the Seal sanctuary, and Flambards theme park both make for excellent family days out.
The beaches at Gunwalloe, Church Cove, and Poldhu are all within 5 miles for a more relaxed turn of pace.

Jem & Sarah were welcoming, attentive but unobtrusive. We loved our stay & plan to return. Would thoroughly recommend Badger Cottage.

...she provided for all our needs... the welcome ' tray' was unexpected ! Towels were offered to be changed which was good.... unfortunately the weather was not so kind and as we didnt bring walking boots etc... we were unable to follow the trails.. disappointed! I would have liked to sit outside in the sunshine but due to the time of year; the trees produced shade.... all in all... a lovely comfortable 11 day stay... thank you Sarah and Jem!!

6 and 3. The boys loved the cottage and the surrounding area. They loved playing in the playground/field and in the playroom with some of the other children staying in the other holiday homes. They also loved collecting the eggs from the chickens. The cottage was excellent and was really a home from home. Sarah and Jem were excellent hosts, they were available on the farm and via phone when we had a problem with the heating they sorted it out right away, Sarah even started a fire for us. Will definitely be returning.
