In the immediate vicinity if the beach doesn't captivate you all day, you can visit the unique Porthcurno Telegraph Museum to learn of the evolution of modern communication or walk up the hill to enjoy an open-air performance, or picnic with fantastic views of Pedn Vounder beach and Logan Rock at the famous Minack Theatre, which also has a Cliffside cafe. Situated in the far west, you are only a short drive from Land’s End and the equally beautiful Sennen Cove. Penzance is just 10 miles distant with a larger range of shops and eateries, along with the iconic St Michael’s Mount.

Perfectly located for a romantic beach retreat or a base to explore West Cornwall, Tater-du is an ideal spot for a break at any time. Please be aware that Porthcurno is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is very, very tranquil. The village only has the beach cafe, the village pub is no longer open and the closest is now "The Logan Rock inn" in Treen, which is about 1.8 miles by car, or via the coastal path for experienced walkers. There's also a bus which now runs from Penzance, and stops on other side of the road outside the apartment.

The small village of Porthcurno is situated four miles from Land’s End on the south coast of West Cornwall. The village has a sandy beach, a café, a restaurant that’s open during the summer season and cliff-top and coastal walks. Porthcurno is also home to the Museum of Global Communications, where you can learn about the underwater cables that connected the village to various places around the world. To the west of Porthcurno is the famous Minack Theatre, which is a superb open air venue with 750 seats and boasts views across Porthcurno Bay to The Lizard. Close by is Land’s End, the most westerly point of mainland England offering something for all the family, and also within reach are lovely Cornish towns and villages, including the popular resorts of Penzance and St Ives. A delightful base for exploring this part of Cornwall.
