April Cottage in Coverack is a well-loved property praised for its superb location and comfortable accommodation. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and the convenience of having a village shop opposite. The garden and views are also highlights, contributing to a delightful stay.
Most guests found April Cottage to be clean and well-presented upon arrival. However, a few reports of mould, dust, and a dirty puddle near the woodburner suggest occasional lapses in cleanliness that slightly mar the overall experience.
The location of April Cottage is consistently lauded for its proximity to local amenities, the beach, and stunning views. Its central position in the village of Coverack makes it an ideal spot for holidaymakers looking to explore the area.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with ample space and well-appointed bedrooms. Some concerns about low ceilings and steep garden steps are noted, but overall, the property provides a comfortable stay.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, but several reviews mention issues with maintenance such as a broken shower hose, leaky sink, and non-functioning appliances. These incidents indicate that while the facilities are adequate, there is room for improvement in maintenance.
Guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a welcoming cream tea with homemade scones, although it's important to note that such gifts are delightful surprises and not guaranteed. The provision of a landline for poor mobile signal areas also reflects consideration for guests' needs.
In the heart of Coverack, one of Cornwall's prettiest villages, just a stone's throw from the beach and harbour is April Cottage. This idyllic 18th century cottage has been beautifully renovated to blend seamlessly original charm with stylish, modern comforts. Well suited for simply relaxing, the warm and inviting sitting room has pretty window seats and a wood burner sits within the huge stone inglenook. The smart kitchen features exposed stone walls, a useful utility area and a door which leads to the garden. On the first floor are four attractive bedrooms: a king size double with sea views and an en suite shower-room. A second double and two single rooms share a family bathroom. Outside, from the elevated terraced garden (22 steep steps up from back door), which has a decked area with table, chairs and a BBQ, are super sea views and a gate leading to the Coast Path. Within the village are a little harbour and a beach with low-tide sand. Nearby, it is possible to try your hand at windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. Further afield, the seal sanctuary at Gweek, and the larger town of Helston with its family theme park are both great ways to spend a day.

The cottage was really clean and comfortable and location was brilliant, we have been going to Coverack now for about 12 years and this is the best cottage we have stayed in and looking forward to going again next year.

The kitchen facilities were plentiful and the two fridges and freezers very helpful. Washing machine and washing line great. The garden shed door was not accessible as lock rusted shut so could not get to BBQ. Very handy being opposite the village shop and within walking distance of the Paris Hotel and the Bay Hotel where we had dinner.

Spacious living area, kitchen and bedrooms, all in perfect condition. And a treat of a sun trap garden behind set amongst flowers, facing the sea, This is a wonderful cottage - thank you so much for the stay!
