Recently refurbished to a superb standard, this historic property (which was once the prestigious residence of a ship’s captain), is set over three floors and combines elegant living areas with light-filled bedrooms and outdoor space. Sash windows, whitewashed floors and original fireplaces adorn the tastefully styled rooms while sumptuous furnishings and a palette of naturals and cream create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation.

Sleeping nine guests, The Terrace View’s bedroom layout is especially well suited to families who have younger children in tow and include three doubles, a twin and a single. Superior mattresses and crisp linens mean you can look forward to snuggling down for a wonderful night’s sleep, ready to feel refreshed for your adventures along the coast or for sun-soaked days spent down on the beach. Outside, a private courtyard garden with its table and seating is where you’ll be able to enjoy outdoor dining, and if you head up the stairs to the top garden you’ll discover a lawn with palms and flowers, the perfect spot for picnics with the children.

Ideally placed within the town, The Terrace View can be easily reached by foot from the train station which is approximately 300 yards away. For those who prefer to drive, the house boasts three private parking spaces (a real rarity in St Ives), so you’ll be able to pack all your beach gear including surfboards, kayaks and deck chairs and make the most of your seaside getaway. Porthminster Beach lies a short stroll away as do the harbour, shops, restaurants and Tate St Ives so if you’d rather not use your car during your stay you won’t need to. However, if you do fancy exploring the rest of St Ives Bay you’ll be within easy reach of some of the area’s best beaches including Carbis Bay, Upton Towans and Gwithian, while Mounts Bay is just 30 minutes away.

With access to the back terrace and garden, the gorgeous farmhouse kitchen features an island with solid wood butchers block top, a Belfast sink, oak worktops and plenty of overhead and under counter storage. Appliances include a Smeg fridge / freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob, grill and oven as well as a washing machine, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, Nespresso machine, iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner

Located on the first floor this lovely bedroom is furnished with a double bed, side tables and reading lamps, a stand-alone wardrobe, chest of drawers and alarm clock as well as a Smart TV with Netflix

Also located on the first floor this room features a twin beds which can be zipped and linked to form a super king, bedside tables and bedside lamps

Bedroom Three

Located on second floor this room has a double bed, bedside tables, bedside lamps, an integrated wardrobe, dressing table and mirror

Also situated on the second floor this room has a double bed, bedside tables, bedside lamps, a freestanding wardrobe and mirror

Outside

The private courtyard terrace with dining table and chairs is situated to the back of the house and is accessed via the kitchen. Steps from here lead up to the top tier garden which is established with various plants and is laid to lawn.
