About this property

A mile from St Kew and its excellent pub, is a handsome detached converted barn, believed to have medieval origins. Elegant and roomy with knobbly walls, deep-set windows and a few exposed beams, this is an inviting and attractive place to stay. There's a big open-plan living area with a electric fire (living flame effect) and wooden floor. Upstairs are three bedrooms – a bright double with French windows, a family room, and a single. To the front and sides is a large, enclosed, mostly lawned garden with table and chairs, shaded by mature trees, with lovely long views. This is a wonderfully quiet spot, a few miles from popular Port Isaac and the coast. There are splendid walks along the Coast Path to many delightful coves including Port Gaverne, the fjord-like Port Quin and splendid surf sand beach at Polzeath. There’s water bound adventures to be had at Rock just five miles along the coast, where you'll find a sailing school and water sports centre. Trewethern Barn is in an ideal spot for exploring this beautiful stretch of coastline.

Not far from Port Isaac, St Kew is a small village – the first recorded in Cornwall! - on the north Cornish coast.

    Would return again.

Carol and Bill went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable but the listing was misleading as it stated there was a log burner fire but that had been replaced with an electrical imitation which in November was not very effective. Otherwise, we enjoyed our very short stay.
