Beehive Cottage in Port Isaac is highly praised for its comfort, stunning location, and the convenience of having a garage, despite the tight fit for larger vehicles. The property offers a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and a lovely garden, making it a favourite for many who have stayed. The charm of the cottage and its proximity to local amenities and coastal paths add to the delightful experience, with many guests planning to return.

Most guests found Beehive Cottage to be clean and well-presented. However, a few mentioned that certain areas, such as the shower room, could have been cleaner, and there were comments about the outside area needing a simple sweep. These were isolated incidents, and the overall impression remains positive.

The location of Beehive Cottage is consistently lauded for its proximity to the sea, local pubs, restaurants, and the coastal path. The spectacular views and ease of access to Port Isaac's amenities contribute to its high rating.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the beds and the cosy, well-furnished living spaces. The main bedroom is particularly noted for its comfort and views. The steep stairs were a minor concern for some, but overall, the cottage is regarded as a comfortable retreat.

The cottage is praised for being well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished. The garage is appreciated, although its size and the challenge of parking larger vehicles have been noted. Some guests suggested improvements in directions and minor maintenance, but overall, the facilities meet guests' needs.

While guests appreciate the well-equipped cottage and the proactive communication from the owners, there is no mention of gifts or special welcome packs in the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to score thoughtfulness based on gifts, and the score is set to null.

About this property

Beehive Cottage is a contemporary dog-friendly property with original features, located just a minute’s walk from Port Isaac’s harbour in North Cornwall. Surrounded by beautiful coast and countryside this welcoming holiday home is a wonderful retreat for a family or couple to relax and unwind… canine companions included!

Following a day exploring the surrounding harbour, beaches and walking routes, the open plan living area, featuring characterful beams and light and bright décor, invites you to unwind. At the heart of the property, the well-equipped shaker style kitchen with breakfast bar is the perfect place to try a Cornish recipe, which can be enjoyed in the dining area. The lounge area is a great space for all the family to cosy up, rest tired legs and delve into a film. If you’re holidaying with older children, we recommend watching Fisherman’s Friends, which was filmed in Port Isaac! Also on the ground floor, there’s a utility room located just off the kitchen and a separate shower room.

A steep staircase leads up to the first floor which boasts two bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and harbour views. In fact, you can even spot ‘The Surgery’ from the famous TV series, Doc Martin. The second bedroom is a triple bunk room with a lower double bed and single bed above. From here, views stretch out across Lobber Point. Outside, a south facing patio/garden boasts greenery and flora, the owner have recently added a new Cornish blue slate patio and alfresco dining area including a large gas BBQ. A garage offers on-site parking for one car.

Take a short walk to the picturesque harbour that exposes a popular beach at low tide, with surrounding shops and eateries dotted along the harbour front. Whilst you’re there we highly recommend indulging in an award-winning fish finger sandwich from Chapel Café! Further afield, the popular village of Polzeath (6.5 miles) boasts a beautiful beach and makes for great a day out.

Accommodating up to four people, Beehive Cottage is a superbly styled clifftop holiday home for a memorable Cornish getaway.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

Do heed (very clear) warnings re the archway you need to go under and the size of the garage if you have a larger/taller than average car. Cottage was cosy, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The garden was lovely too - great to sit in and have breakfast or an evening drink. Overall - no complaints at all - we had a really enjoyable stay at Beehive Cottage and would thoroughly recommend it.

We had everything that we could have possibly wanted and everything was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed several meals out in port Isaac with lots of choice and good quality fresh food. The directions were spot on and when the sun shone it was difficult to imagine a nicer place. We would highly recommend beehive cottage when visiting the area.
