Guests that stayed at this property said

The lodge generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with high-quality bed linen and towels mentioned. However, a few guests noted areas for improvement, such as cobwebs and tired-looking sofas, suggesting minor attention to detail could enhance the experience.

The location is consistently praised for being central, quiet, and ideal for exploring Cornwall, with easy access to beaches and local amenities. It's considered perfect for both relaxing and sightseeing.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, with a homely feel and a comfy bed. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level, although some guests suggest that the furniture could be updated for an even better experience.

Facilities are well-received with the hot tub being a highlight. However, some guests reported missing items like an iron and hairdryer, and maintenance issues such as flaking paint and a rotting deck step, indicating room for improvement in this area.

Many guests appreciate the thoughtful gestures such as welcome gifts of wine, chocolates, and flowers. It's important to note that while these gifts are warmly received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Note: This property is next to Ref 953053, together they sleep 8.

St Day was once the mining centre for mid-Cornwall until nearby Redruth took over the title, and you can still see the terraces of granite cottages originally built for the miners. The village was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage.
