… down the deeply wooded lane towards Lamorna cove, past its pub and 200 yards from the cove, nestling along the banks of the valley stream, a little detached cottage, once the studio of the artist 'Lamorna' Birch, from where he drew his inspiration. From the privately owned lane, a sloping path leads through a natural garden (terrace, table/chairs) on various levels beside the valley stream (unfenced), surrounded by mature woodland; it’s worth just sitting and enjoying the timelessness and calm of the place.
From the garden, step up into open-plan living/dining/kitchen (microwave, fridge-freezer) with high beamed ceiling and big skylight letting in lots of natural light, terracotta-tiled floor (carpet), woodburner, sofa and day bed (no TV). From living room, 3 steps up to curtained-off double bedroom (access to one side of bed only) with hooks for clothes-hanging and en suite shower-room (suite). No children under 10. Best for maximum of 2 adults, 1 child. Loading/unloading outside only; parking, 100 yards. Pub and hotel, 350 yards; beach and Coast Path, 200 yards. A balm-to-the-soul idyll.
