About this property

Located in the heart of the ever-popular fishing port and village of Mevagissey, this beautifully-restored terraced cottage is ideally located to experience all that makes the village so special, as well as being an ideal base for touring South Cornwall's wonderful coastline. As soon as you enter the cottage, you are immediately taken by the homely, welcoming and luxurious feel that exudes throughout. Set over three floors, the ground floor offers a sociable open-plan layout with sitting and dining areas with slate floors, and a toasty woodburning stove adding comfort and character, extending onto the very well-equipped kitchen. Stairs lead up to the first bedroom where a choice of a super-king-size or twin is offered. The bathroom sits conveniently next to this bedroom and then it's up a few more stairs to the second floor where a king-size double bedroom has the added benefit of its own en-suite shower room. Mevagissey is a thriving village with an old-fashioned, characterful atmosphere that still pervades the narrow streets and winding alleys, with countless legends and tales of smuggling tucked away along the secret passages. The harbour provides safe refuge for boats, and is normally packed with fishing boats landing their daily catch, and there are plenty of seafood restaurants where you can taste the fresh local produce, before heading back to cottage along the harbour. Fantastic local attractions in the area include the historic Folk Museum, the World of Model Railways Exhibition, and the Mevagissey Aquarium, whilst challenging rambles can be found up to Polkirt Hill, which boasts sensational views over the glistening harbour and golden sands. Polstreath Beach and St Austell Bay are both a scenic drive away for a fantastic day at the beach, whilst the adventures of the group can embark on a trip along the expansive South West Coast Path over to Pentewan Beach, boasting opportunities for relaxing, watersports, canoeing and swimming. Alternatively, don’t miss out on the chance to visit some of Cornwall’s top attractions at Caerhays Castle, The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Dodman Point, and the home of Poldark at Charlestown. With all this quaint village has to offer, set practically on the doorstep, along with the wonderful coast and plentiful beaches waiting to be explored, this really is the ideal base for a wonderful holiday, whatever time of year.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and great attractions at the nearby hotspots of St. Austell and Truro.
