… about 2½ miles from Ruan Lanihorne, an impressive cottage converted from a stone barn on a 370 acre working farm, surrounded by wooded valleys along which streams and creeks meander to the sea (Carne beach, 6 miles). It is part of the historic Tregothnan Estate, one of the largest country estates in Cornwall with the only tea plantation in Britain. You are welcome to wander the farmland and enjoy magnificent views across the River Fal, and feed lambs at lambing time. The cottage adjoins the owners’ farmhouse, with your own good-sized enclosed lawned garden (picnic benches, barbecue) to the front and rear.
Slate-floored entrance hall for coats/boots. Stairs up to spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, freezer, fridge, electric oven) with high vaulted beamed ceilings, woodburner, TV/DVD, iPod dock and glazed door to 4 steps down to the back garden. Downstairs, three bedrooms (all with zip-linked beds which can be converted to twins) – a double (5’ bed) with en suite shower-room (suite) and glazed door to garden, a double (6’ bed) with glazed door to garden, and a double (6’ bed); bathroom (suite). A great retreat for nearby beaches, simply relaxing or for walkers and wildlife lovers.
