About this property

74 Porthmeor is a bright and contemporary lodge nestled in the coastal village of Portreath, Cornwall. With a private hot tub, accessible facilities, stylish open-plan living and easy access to shops, pubs and the beach, this welcoming retreat is ideal for families, friends and multigenerational groups looking to enjoy Cornwall's rugged north coast. Step inside and discover a thoughtfully designed living space where everyone can gather together after days spent exploring. The open-plan layout creates a sociable hub for your stay, with a well-equipped kitchen providing everything needed for preparing hearty breakfasts and evening meals. Gather around the dining table to plan the day ahead before retiring to the inviting sitting area, where the woodburning stove adds warmth and ambience on cooler evenings. Sink into the seating, switch on the Smart TV and enjoy a relaxing night in. Outside, the decking offers another lovely space to spend time together. Ease yourself into the bubbling hot tub after a day by the sea or simply sit back with a morning coffee while enjoying the fresh coastal air.

When it's time to rest, three plush bedrooms await. The principal super-king-size bedroom benefits from a TV and an en-suite disability-friendly wet room with wheelchair-accessible facilities, including a shower seat and hoist. A second super-king-size zip/link bedroom with TV provides flexible sleeping arrangements, while the single bedroom is ideal for an additional guest. Completing the interior is a family bathroom featuring a bath with an integrated TV, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing soak while catching up on your favourite programme.

Just a short walk away, Portreath offers a selection of shops, pubs and cafés, while its sandy beach lies within easy reach. Spend your days surfing the rolling waves, exploring the picturesque harbour or wandering the dramatic coastline that has made this part of Cornwall so popular with visitors. Further afield, the cathedral city of Truro offers independent shops, restaurants, museums and its striking Gothic cathedral. The beautiful beaches of Hayle provide miles of golden sands and excellent watersports opportunities, while St Ives entices visitors with its charming streets, harbourfront setting, Tate St Ives gallery and renowned coastal scenery. Whether you're unwinding in the hot tub, enjoying evenings beside the woodburning stove or setting out to discover Cornwall's spectacular coastline, 74 Porthmeor provides a superb base for a memorable getaway.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
