Guests say

Wheal Holan is a charming and spacious cottage in a beautiful part of Cornwall, praised for its comfort, well-equipped amenities, and excellent location for exploring the coast and local attractions. Guests frequently mention the cosy atmosphere, modern updates, and thoughtful touches. While most found the property very clean, a few noted minor lapses in kitchen cleanliness and garden upkeep. The cottage is ideal for families and couples seeking a relaxing stay in a picturesque village setting.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and tidy, with particular praise for the bathrooms and living areas. However, a few reviews mentioned issues such as sand on the floors, crumbs in the kitchen, and an oven needing a deeper clean, which slightly lowered the overall impression.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to the coast, local attractions, and the village pub. The cottage serves as an excellent base for exploring Cornwall, with easy access to Penzance, St Ives, and scenic walks.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with warm rooms, comfortable beds, and a homely feel. The log burner and modern amenities add to the overall comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped with modern features, kitchen essentials, and extras like picnic baskets and paddle boards. Some guests noted the absence of a dishwasher and minor maintenance issues, but overall facilities are highly rated.

Several guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as logs for the fire, wine, and well-stocked amenities. However, it should be noted that welcome gifts or treats are not guaranteed for every stay.

This was our seventh stay at Wheal Holan and, as usual, we enjoyed a wonderful relaxed stay in our second 'home'. Perfect location if you enjoy village life and great for visiting the sights of Penwith be it Sennen Cove, Pendeen Watch, Mousehole or St. Ives!

A great cottage in an area of Cornwall that we had not been to. The scenery and beaches that are walkable from the cottage are amazing. The cottage is cozy yet spacious for the 4 of us it felt very homely and we were very comfortable there. Only thing that let it down was the cleanlines of the kitchen when we arrived in particular having to clean the oven because of baked on food from previous visitors and wiping doors down to remove food stains.
