About this property

Jubilee Cottage is a traditional cottage in a prime position in Penzance, directly on the promenade with superb far reaching sea views across to St Michael's Mount and Marazion. Set over two floors, this granite stone cottage is perfect for family, friends and couples seeking a seaside retreat. The reverse level accommodation offers a spacious comfortably furnished first floor sitting and dining area and separate well equipped kitchen. Downstairs, exposed granite stone walls add character and charm to the bedrooms, plus a ground floor family bathroom. The bustling town of Penzance boasts a diverse range of attractions and entertainment to suit all tastes. The town is surrounded by an area of Celtic culture and outstanding natural beauty, with pristine beaches and crystal seas, majestic cliffs and rocky coves, all set against a heather and gorse landscape. A day trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat can be taken from the harbour and for those without transport there is a picturesque 20 minute train service to the harbour town of St Ives, the inspiration of many artists, writers and poets. Land's End is a 10 mile drive away and has something for everyone, whatever the weather. With its stunning dramatic scenery and legendary views it can be enjoyed in sunshine and storms, where you may spy seals, dolphins and basking sharks in their natural environment. Jubilee Cottage makes a superb coastal bolthole.

One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas. The spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves, winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Scilly Isles.

The upside down living in Jubilee Cottage is a bit different, hence having the great views from the lounge windows. We would stay again. Just a couple of things, these being that, as you do enter the property it does smell like wet dog, very musty smelling. this maybe because the downstairs windows don't get opened very often. Also, thank you for the milk in fridge, but the fridge wasn't on and the door open (with the tea towel still catching the defrosting water), so the milk was not cold. Last point, man working from home in the house behind chatting and looking down at us from his work station into the rear lounge window, maybe some blinds would help the feeling of not being watched. Thanks again for a great stay though.

The views were fantastic and it’s in a perfect location, so convenient for the railway and bus station as well as everything else Penzance has to offer, which is a great deal. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need we felt comfortable and could really relax. Our only minus point was the duvet on the bed which was a heavy winter one and far too hot in September and very musty smells in the drawers and wardrobes downstairs. However the shower was great and we would definitely return

We will be back next year. We did notice that the smell of damp was quite strong down stairs and left the wardrobe doors open due to the musty smell.
