We’ve stayed at No Place before in 2024 and loved it. It merited a five-star review then, so we booked again for this year. The pool and hot tub were great, but there was a significant change in the cottage itself. The standard of cleaning was barely adequate, bed sheets were dirty and there was black mould in both showers, and damp and mould on the wall in one bedroom. The floor in one bedroom seemed, in places, to be on the verge of collapse. The range cooker top was filthy, as was the kitchen bin. The thatch on the cottage is falling to pieces and this might explain why on most nights we were repeatedly disturbed by what sounded like numbers of rats in the roof space gnawing, digging and running about. We got so little sleep that we left a day early. So while the pool and hot tub are great, in our opinion the cottage is not clean enough to merit staying in. We’ve messaged the owner about these issues but have not had any reply, and hope they will be rectified for future guests. As things stand we could not recommend No Place despite its location and amenities and have no plans to book it again unless standards return to the levels we had in 2024 and the mould and rat problems (as well as the dilapidated thatch) are dealt with.

On arrival we swiched on the central heating to a chorus of noisey radiators one of which barely hanging onto the living room wall, this was all the time for the whole week. The internal wildlife was interesting lots of fly's and long legged spiders in all rooms. Fly droppings on the bed sheets and pillows. As for the pool, no way was we going in there with it's murky water with goodness know's what was lurking at the bottom it was about 2 feet long and very dark, but good news the pool cleaners arrived mid week and left a large frog in the net on the side of the pool. Not a sniff of chlorine at all. Curtains were filthy probably not washed for at least a year.If anyone think's this review is an exageration my pictures are perfect evidence. What an expensive waste of money.

We loved our trip. The peace and the setting with amazing grounds, a pool, hot tub and sun deck made the holiday idyllic. A quaint, comfortable cottage with brilliant access to the coast path and the most wonderful beach. We can’t wait to go back.
