Magical Mousehole; A picturesque seaside village that remains enveloped in the ambience of traditional Cornish life. With narrow streets and wide sea views, village life centers around the attractive harbour and its huddle of traditional Lamorna stone cottages which, together with its peppering of independent shops, galleries and eateries, creates an away-from-it-all atmosphere that’s easy to fall in love with.
Hidden down a footpath just a three minute walk to the beach, Sea Thrift tucks away into a quiet corner of the village; its whitewashed exterior and shuttered windows concealing a fashionable bolt hole for two that’s as comfortable as it is well-positioned. Artistic flair and eclectic furnishings lend an edginess to the interior and combine with original features like a cast iron wood-burner and exposed timber beams to offer a holiday retreat that feels warm and familiar.
Downstairs the cosy living room invites lazy mornings and feet-up conversation, while a small, separate kitchen is perfectly proportioned and amply equipped for home cooking. Upstairs is the cottage’s spacious master bedroom complete with its double metal-frame bed, and the adjacent bathroom boasts a deep freestanding Victorian bath that tempts afternoon soaks after days spent down on the beach.
Set just a few miles west of the market town of Penzance, Mousehole is well placed as a base from which to explore the stunning slice of coastline that stretches from Newlyn to Marazion where the must-see St Michael’s Mount along with a handful of spectacular sandy beaches reside. Within the village itself are a selection of lovely places to eat including The Ship, Rock Pool Café and Hole Foods Deli, and a scenic meander along the South West Coast path takes visitors on a circular route past the beautiful Lamorna Cove.

For more information about North and South Quay car parks from the Harbour Authority’s website, please click here
The Parade Car Park is privately owned so prices are subject to change however current charges (as of 2021) are £9.00 for an overnight stay. Please note that parking here is strictly monitored and even slight overstays are heavily fined.
Please bear in mind that on-street parking is scarce as the village’s streets are very narrow. At very busy times when these car parks are full, the village of Paul which is located up a steep hill at the top of Mousehole Lane is an option however the walk up, although just 0.6 miles, is strenuous.
