Kernyk cottage in Cornwall is praised for its beautiful location near the beach, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. Guests appreciate the powerful shower and the welcome pack. While some find the lounge area and bathroom in need of an update, the property's charm and proximity to local amenities like cafes and a pub make it a favoured choice for a holiday stay.

Guests generally find the beds comfortable and the property cosy. Some reviews mention a need for more comfortable lounge seating and a preference for softer mattresses, which slightly affects the comfort score.
The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and guests are pleased with the garden and patio area. However, some guests feel that the lounge and bathroom facilities require updating, and there are mentions of maintenance issues like a quickly filling shower tray.
Many guests express gratitude for the welcome pack, which adds a thoughtful touch to their stay. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every visit.

A perfect base to explore the South West Coast to places like Marazion , Penzance , Pra Sands and Porthleven. We really couldnât fault this little gem of a place and if we were to find fault it was only the fact that we both would have liked two sofas to stretch our legs after a day of walking . By no means is this a criticism , Itâs just our personal preference we look for in accommodation as we both canât sit for periods of time due to back problems so have to lie down in the evenings . However, having said this we were aware from the photos that there was a small 2 seater sofa and a small chair/sofa but we thought we would give it a go.

Whilst the downstairs was very modern, the exterior and upstairs still held the character of a cosy cottage. The kitchen is very well equipped, and there is lovely patio furniture to enjoy the garden. If needed there is a rotary washing line at the top of the garden. The garden attracts a wealth of birds and other wildlife. The main bedroom is very spacious with ample storage, in both wardrobes and chest of drawers. There must be something very special with the bed as we had the best weeks sleep in months, despite it being the middle of the heatwave - our sleep wasn't impacted. The property is perfectly situated for the beach and the South West Coastal Pathway - we took a beautiful stroll (I have arthritis in knees but didn't let that stop me - just needed my walking tick / pole at times) along the path and were rewarded with seeing a pod of 6 dolphins and a seal. We also enjoyed time on the beach which was very quiet, clean and very picturesque. It was also great to not have to travel far (never drove more than 30 mins) for days out, the property is close to so much, St Michael's Mount was a real highlight and an achievement to walk up to the top of the castle. There was also a lovely welcome pack, with biscuits, sugar, coffee, tea bags, pint of milk, and cleaning products. We'd highly recommend this property to family and friends. The only things we feel could be improved was there was limited information about the local area, such as walking routes, closes GP, how to use the fire, wifi password (found on the router) etc, although there was information about the bins. We just found it unusual for there to be no welcome folder - we did contact Sykes customer services and on the second time of asking they provided us with some information which was helpful. Overall this was an amazing property in a beautiful location.

The newly re-furbed kitchen was lovely and the bedroom was absolutely massive. The main negative was the fact the living room was quite uncomfortable. We were out every day, but in the evenings the sofa was not comfy at all for 2 adults to sit and relax on.
