This detached, 19th-century, beamed cottage, with a small and private south-facing garden, is set in the heart of a picturesque village that overlooks Mounts Bay. There is a village pub nearby also, ideal for a drink after a busy day exploring. St Michaels Mount can be seen from the double bedroom. It is just 2 miles from Penzance, with pubs and restaurants. The nearby village of Heamoor has a shop, bakery, fish & chip shop and pub. The National Trust gardens at Trengwainton are a 10-minute walk away. A comfortable and quiet base for exploring west Cornwall, walkers will enjoy the coastal footpath. There are sandy beaches at Sennen, St Ives and Porthcurno with Minack open air theatre. Day trips are available to the Isles of Scilly by air or sea. Pubs and restaurants 2 miles.

Our stay at Chy-Vean cottage was lovely despite the unkind weather. There was everything we should need and a very comfortable environment with beautifully furnished and decorated rooms. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others and hope to return next year.

Property is small but cosy. Only real issue was noise both nights from parties in the village hall directly across a very narrow street. Also although it says dog friendly, it then states not on furniture or upstairs which for such a small property is extremely limiting.

Had a great time staying at Chy Vean. Lovely cosy cottage in the quiet village of Madron. A great base to explore the Penwith area of Cornwall and that is exactly what we did! We made a pilgrimage to lots of the Ancient Monuments, Sacred Wells and other sites of interest to us. We visited many of the beautiful coastal villages, swam at Porth Curno, visited the tin mining areas and did some bird and seal watching. Awsome, juicy Cornish Mussels served at Cutty Sark in Marizion and at Kota Kai in Port Leven. Fish and Chips from the local chippy in Hearmoor also delicious. All in all a fab time !!
