Across the estuary there is Rock, the magnificent sands of Daymar and a little further, Polzeath. Just a short drive south along the coast is Watergate Bay and Newquay, Cornwall’s liveliest resort, with its Sea Life Centre, zoo and sandy surfing beaches.
