Set midway between Marazion and Penzance, Long Rock is a small coastal village in Mounts Bay with a long, sandy, beach and wonderful views over St Michael’s Mount. Nestled in the heart of the village, Rock On The Bay is a small, beautifully proportioned traditional stone cottage with three bedrooms and an inviting living room that bursts with character and a welcoming atmosphere; perfect for family holidays on Cornwall’s magnificent west coast.

Arranged over two floors the cottage features a large open plan lounge on the ground floor, with an ornamental cast iron fireplace and two sublimely comfortable sofas. The dining room which is incorporated into the space, has a chunky oak dining table and seating for six so is the ideal spot for sharing breakfasts and dinners or for discussing the day’s plans before heading out to explore. Well-equipped to handle anything from batches of freshly baked biscuits to a full English, the cottage’s farmhouse kitchen is fully kitted out with a range of appliances and cookware so cooking up family meals is a pleasure, and a small rear courtyard makes a great place to enjoy a morning coffee while soaking up the sunshine.

Upstairs, cosy bedrooms and a large family bathroom mean plenty of space for up to 6 guests, with two double bedrooms and a children’s room with bunk beds making the perfect set up for families with children in tow. Superior mattresses, lovely soft furnishings and a TV in the master bedroom create sublimely comfortable places to retire to after days spent down at the beach, and large windows invite the morning light in after a restful night’s sleep.

Situated within just a mile and a half of both Marazion and Penzance, Rock On The Bay makes a fantastic base for discovering all that this stunning slice of coastline has to offer. Walk the exposed path at low tide to the iconic St Michael’s Mount and discover extraordinary gardens and an historic castle, or visit the ancient ruins of the Minnack Theatre in Lands End, or Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens in Penzance. The South West Coast Path runs right along the beach and is a great way to take in the coastal views and landscape, while Long Rock Beach with it’s long sandy stretch is perfect for family days out or for exercising four-legged friends.

Living Room

Positioned on the first floor this lovely room features a period cast iron ornamental fireplace and is furnished with two large sofas, an ottoman, an oak coffee table and TV cabinet. A range of interesting object and artwork are on display as well as several bookshelves with a variety of holiday reads to enjoy. There is also a flat screen Smart TV with DVD player

Kitchen

Three steps down from the dining room, the farmhouse kitchen is amply equipped and offers lots of storage as well as plenty of worktop space. It features an electric, fan-assisted oven and grill, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. The cottage provides a selection of cookware, utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses

Utility

Situated on the ground floor off the kitchen, the utility houses a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner

Dining Room/Area

Open plan with the lounge, the dining room features a solid oak dining table, two chairs and two oak benches and a sideboard

Master Bedroom

The comfortable master bedroom is situated on the first floor of the cottage and features sash windows to let in plenty of natural light. It is furnished with a double bed, bedside tables with lamps, mirror, chest of drawers, a TV and a free-standing wardrobe

Bedroom Two

This first floor bedroom is furnished with a double bed, a chest of drawers and mirror and a free-standing wardrobe. A delightful sash window and wide oak sill are to the far end of the room and allow plenty of light in to give a bright and airy feel

Bedroom Three

Also on the first floor, this bedroom is furnished with bunk beds, chest of drawers and mirror

Family Bathroom

Situated on the first floor the bathroom features a bath with shower over, WC, hand basin, mirror, heated towel rail and hairdryer

There is a separate cloakroom with WC and hand basin on the ground floor

Outside

To the back of the cottage is a small, decked area leading to an enclosed and secure private courtyard. It has a bench for unwinding on when the weather is sunny and is perfect for guests who have four-legged family members in tow

Parking

Private parking for one small to medium sized vehicle to the back of the property behind a wooden gate. Additional parking can be found in Long Rock Car Park which is a 4 minute walk along the coast path. Information and charges can be viewed here
