It was cosy, mostly comfortable and very quiet. The rooms were large enough for 3 people and having a downstairs toilet and shower as well as a large upstairs bathroom with toilet and full size bath was very useful. We never used the wood burner as the central heating was more than adequate but I can imagine in the depth of winter it would be very warm, very quickly. There were ,however, a few negatives that stopped me giving this property top marks as far as a holiday property is concerned. Firstly, there was no welcome pack to explain about basic things such as what do we do with our rubbish when the small bins in the cottage are full as there were no bins outside? How does the central heating work? It took me a while to find the hot water/central heating switch on the side of an inoperative timer inside the cupboard which also housed the plugs for the 2 lamps in the lounge. The outside light didn't work, nor did the entrance hall light, parking was hit or miss and we did have to park a long way down an unlit lane one evening so not sure where the off road parking is meant to be. Some taps had the H and C rubbed off through age which could be dangerous and one tap in the upstairs bathroom sink didn't work at all. Cobwebs galore, very noisy bed/mattresses which had seen better days and were uncomfortable and a tub chair in the lounge has a very sharp piece of metal through the vinyl where you placed your right hand which actually cut me were other issues which could be avoided by more attention to detail by the owners and cleaners and yet I would go back. If those small details were dealt with this would make this a perfect property and incredible value for money so owners please take note! One final thing that is a fault of the area is that the wi-fi, which has to be paid for, is more miss than hit which could be a blessing or not.

As much as we tried could not find central heating controls so was cold at times , there was a smart TV advertised but no Internet connection so was unable to use it . The chair in the living room had metal protruding so very dangerous. That all said it was a lovely place and would possibly consider staying again if these issues are investigated and resolved .

There was a very damp smell when entering the cottage, also there had been no effort made to clean what seemed to be an abundance of cobwebs throughout the property, my partner had to clean the cobwebs away with the hoover, prior to hanging any clothes. As far as the facilties, only 2 chairs and a very small table for 3 people, lounge lacked any comfort, and the single bucket chair was damaged. There may have been a smart TV, but no WiFi available, so not able utilise TV apps, only freeview. 2 Bedside tables in main bedroom but only 1 lamp, lack of wardrobe space, the wardrobe in the single room was small and dirty inside, and the dressing table was lacking a stool to sit on, there was a water leak from main toilet outlet, which I believe was there before we arrived, but no action had been taken to rectify. Overall, appreciating it is character cottage, very disappointed with the cleanliness and facilities, I would generally expect better from your company, and would in fact expect some sort of recompense for the disappointing experience, on the upside Cornwall is beautiful, just picked the wrong place to stay.
