About this property

Duloe 2.1 miles. This one-story barn conversion rests in a rural area in the tranquil east Cornwall village of St Keyne, a few miles from Duloe. Pheasant Barn is an appealing option for couples, providing a homely ambiance with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, and a woodburning stove. When you arrive, the gravel driveway leads you to a large off-road parking area. Enter the barn and take a few steps down to the open-plan living area, where you can curl up in front of the woodburning stove and browse through the Smart TV. Prepare your supper to enjoy at the breakfast bar or dine alfresco on warmer evenings. Before retiring to the double bedroom to catch up on sleep, wash away the day in the shower room and start your bedtime ritual. The exterior of this St. Keyne barn features a lovely enclosed garden with a bistro table and chairs; why not relax there with a cool drink with your dog by your side. The village of Duloe is located two miles to the south: eat at The Plough or stock up on necessities from the Duloe Community Shop. For keen historians Duloe Stone Circle is signposted on the edge of the village: accessed by footpath, this small Bronze Age stone circle comprises eight quartz rich stones which reportedly impart an ethereal glow in the right light. Pack your walking boots ready for a visit to Deerpark Forest at Herodsfoot: also just two miles from the property and offering a variety of peaceful, dog-friendly walking trails and paths through acres of scenic woodland. Alternatively, head north to Liskeard and ramble this delightful market town, home to a wealth of shops and restaurants. The seaside town of Looe, which is further south, has a beautiful fishing port where you can buy fresh fish for your supper, or choose from a range of fantastic eateries. The beach is conveniently located, and the Looe Museum has an intriguing collection of artefacts related to smuggling that is well worth a look. Those seeking a bit of adventure can head to Menheniot's Adrenalin Quarry where you can scale rocks or ride the zipline. Pheasant Barn makes a wonderful getaway spot to enjoy the delights of Cornwall. This property can be booked with Owl Barn ref: 1112675 and Woodpeckers Barns ref:1099930 on the same site: together they can sleep up to ten people.

Between Liskeard and Looe in the prestigious county of Cornwall is the tiny settlement of Duloe. The Duloe Stone Circle's historic ruins are located near the village, and Cornish Orchards, which offers a fantastic assortment of ciders, is close by. There are two places to eat: a gastropub serving homemade food and local ales, and a community store with a good selection of necessities. The expansive Kilminorth Woods, which are nearby for hiking, and the 18th-century Port Eliot House & Gardens are both within walking distance of the settlement. Visit the seaside village of Looe for a sandy beach with rock pools. While there, explore the Looe Museum to learn about smuggling artefacts, and consider taking a boat out to Looe Island. Visit the historically rich town of Liskeard, which features the tumbling Golitha Falls and the Carnglaze Caverns for a subterranean adventure.

The woodburner added to the cosy atmosphere and we loved the breakfast bar . Everything had been thought of and the delicious cake and local apple juice was very welcome on arrival. The cottage is in the perfect position to visit Looe, Polperro, Bodmin moor, Fowey via the car ferry and Lantic Bay. We also visited Plymouth, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the beautiful fishing village of Mevagissey which were also withiin easy reach.

Tastefully presented, spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen, a good shower room, and a comfortable bed – in brief, all we could need for our short stay over New Year. The Christmas tree and welcome goodies were also much appreciated! Such an attractive, peaceful setting, with lovely walks to Herodsfoot and St Keyne, and perfectly located for Liskeard and Looe. Storm Henk didn't prevent us from making the most of our time here, but we would love to return in the warmer months! Thank you so much.

The cottage was clean and well equipped the front garden was nice to sit in when the sun was on it in a morning but later in the day the sun went to the back of the cottage and it would have been nice to sit at the back but I couldn't get the French doors open they were made of wood and the wood was swollen I didn't want to force the door and brake the glass with there being a 150 pounds House keeping bond on the property so I left them closed maybe they need to invest in upvc windows and doors
